I thought cancer is the worst thing happened to me but this hospital made me feel worse for the people getting treated there. I am a pregnant lady with cancer but for them I am wallet to get international insurance money.
Reviews: Where to begin, this whole experience was based on lies. I chose this hospital based on reviews and all those reviews were fake. While I was getting infused, the wifi guy came to connect my wifi and gave hospital a 5 star review from my phone. All one liner reviews are fake. Also, there are 15 reviews everyday, they take phones and run this scam. When I reported it, doctor said to inform other doctor. Also, drinking water got mosquitos and washrooms cannot be used.
They charge for every small thing, they say that they will discuss your case in panel but it consists of so many inexperienced people. In this hospital, you cannot tell whether you are dealing with doctor or assistant or student. We checked in for chemotherapy and they were least interested in the treatment. In panel discussion, they overloaded us with test worth of 6 lakhs and various ways to get it approved from insurance. They forced us to do 3rd biopsy at their place for 80000(which was done at Tata memorial for 11000). During our first visit, they shared our number with all non relevant staff and we kept getting calls from psycho department for counselling. We were in need of chemotherapy session but for them we were like a golden egg to produce insurance money.
Chemotherapy- We had a hard time dealing with international insurance billing team. They were so incompetent and rude. We reached hospital by 10:30 am. We had a private room assigned to us, bed and fan of that room wasnt working. They took 1.5hr to change our room. Then my vitals were taken by two kids who measured my bp wrong. NOONE wear gloves. NO nurse, NO doctor, NO attendant, not even a single glove worn by anyone. Rooms are dirty with rusts on bed and linen feels damp. Bathrooms can be used only for emergency purposes. The nutritionist had no idea that I was pregnant and even after informing that I have GD, she gave normal diet. The premed was started around 2pm. when we didnt get main medicine even after 2 hours of premed, we called doctor and we were informed that some medicine mixup happened and that is why delay is happening. As they do not have any maternity support and I am 34 weeks pregnant, I informed doctors, staff and everybody that we need to be closer to our hospital. Still, they tried adding extra tests for approval from insurance and didnt close the bill. As a patient, I didnt get to rest even for 5 minutes, every single person came and asked about insurance name. From 12pm till 5:30 pm, there was a knock on door every 5 minutes, just to check the name of the insurance company.
When around 10:20pm, I felt fetal distress and needed to see doctor, the nurse denied to remove my dripline by saying that bill is not clear. I walked with drip to the ground floor, only to find out that whole international billing dept is at home and no one can help us. I was on a verge of calling police when one person understood my situation and let me go.
Day2- They didnt check weight, pulse or health of me or my baby before letting me go. Also, no after care from any staff member. I got 1 million monetary recovery calls from their international team for 6000 rs.
They managed to add 12% extra bill on top of insurance approved bill. If you want to burn money and burn health, this is the...
Read moreI am writing this post with deep anguish and disappointment regarding the treatment experience of my father, a stage 4 pancreatic cancer patient, who has been under the care of HCG Cancer Hospital since March 2024. While the initial 1.3 years of his treatment were managed smoothly under the care of Dr. Shekhar Patilâs team, I regret to inform you that the recent experience has been distressing, both for my father and our family.
During his admission to the private ward on the night of 15th August 2025 (8 pm), he remained in the hospital until 23rd August 2025, without any improvement in his condition. Despite his stomach being visibly distended due to ascites, there was no timely intervention to provide relief. If the hospital was unable to offer further treatment, this could and should have been communicated within 2 few days, rather than prolonging his stay and subjecting him to unnecessary sufferingâultimately resulting in a bill of âš2,73,000.
More distressing than the lack of medical intervention, however, has been the careless, rude, and indifferent behavior of the following staff members, which has had a severe impact on our familyâs mental health and broken my fatherâs spirit:
1)Dr. Shashidhar** (Medical Oncology team) â whose behavior was beyond words in terms of rudeness and indifference. 2)Dr. Sunita** (Medical Office Tower 4, 4th floor) â who responded very rudely to my mother each time she asked anything. 3)Dr. Mahesh** (Onco-surgeon) â despite being a senior surgical professional, displayed complete disregard for psychosocial support and basic patient empathy. 4)Mr. Devareddy** (Operations) â whose approach reflected insensitivity when asked about billing.
My father had immense faith in HCG and in Dr. Shekhar Patilâs team, but the experience with the above-mentioned staff has shattered his willpower and faith in treatment altogether. For a family already going through the pain of advanced cancer, this kind of treatment from senior doctors is unacceptable and deeply unethical. My father is a retired chief engineer. A person who is sick does not mean these above 4 mentioned doctors are gods. Puchta kaun hai doctors ko. U might have million patients in a populous country like india and so we have 2 million doctors in the world.
Cancer care is not just about medicines and proceduresâit is equally about compassion, dignity, and ethical responsibility toward patients and their families. Even to give a simple pain killer, my distressed mother used to call me, I had to call dr shekhar patil and then nurse gave med. I had to shift my father alone to a different hospital at 10pm night .Thanks to other hospital...
Read moreI had a very disappointing and frustrating experience at HCG Hospital, particularly with the services provided during my visits for my motherâs care.
We came for a pickline dressing for my mother on multiple occasions, including Sundays and Saturdays, and each time there was either no attendant available or the service was not provided. When I raised a complaint at the reception desk, I was told in an unhelpful manner that dressing is not provided on Sundays and to come on Saturdays. However, when we visited on Saturday, there was still no one available to assist.
We were repeatedly told that the appointment timings were communicated at discharge, which was not the case. I was given contact numbers of nurses mentioned in the discharge summary and called all six of them, but none responded. Upon reporting this to the reception, I was told they were helpless and advised to wait until 10:30 AM because staff were on leave. Even when asked for clear timings, the staff responded rudely and avoided providing information. We waited for 3 hours.
Eventually, one nurse called back saying she was late and that other staff had gone for an OUTING. This is unacceptable patient care should not be disrupted by personal activities. Moreover, communication between shifts is poor, leading to confusion and delays during discharge.
The food provided is another major concern. It is costly, tasteless, and barely different from what staff or attendants eat. The presence of a dietitian seems unnecessary if proper, nutritious meals are not being offered.
Additionally, the hygiene of the facility is subpar. The washrooms are dirty and emit a foul smell, and in the single ward, the AC and fridge were not functioning properly.
While the medical treatment itself is satisfactory, the lack of empathy, coordination, and basic service from nurses, attendants, and staff is unacceptable. Every charge is expensive, yet the service quality is not worth the cost.
HCG Hospital must prioritize patient care by ensuring staff availability every day, including Sundays, improving communication between shifts, and providing proper food and hygiene facilities. Patients are not airline passengers who should wait endlessly for delayed flights they deserve timely and compassionate care.
I expect HCG to seriously reflect on these issues and make improvements, rather than offering empty apologies or requesting patient details after posting this review without meaningful follow through.
If this kind of experience happens again, I will definitely post another review to highlight the...
