All sales, offers, discounts, deals at Fabindia. Founded in 1960 by John Bissell to market the diverse craft traditions of India, Fabindia started out as a home furnishings export company. John Bissell had a vision for the company that placed equitable relationships at the centre of the business model he chose for Fabindia. While ‘sustainable relationships’ is quite the modern mantra today, at the time the company came into being, this approach was viewed as ‘radical’ and perhaps too idealistic for the business of business. The first Fabindia retail store was opened in Greater Kailash, New Delhi in 1976 and is still one of our flagship stores. By the early eighties, Fabindia was already known for garments made from hand woven and hand printed fabrics. The non-textile range was added in 2000, while organic foods, which formed a natural extension of Fabindia’s commitment to traditional techniques and skills was added in 2004, with personal care products following in 2006. Handcrafted jewellery was introduced in 2008. Today, with a pan-India presence, Fabindia is the largest private platform for products that derive from traditional crafts and knowledge. A large proportion of these are sourced from villages across India where the company works closely with the artisans, providing various inputs including design, quality control, access to finance and raw materials. Encouraging good craftsmanship and supporting the communities that continue such traditions are central to our philosophy. Fabindia’s endeavour is to bring customers a choice of products – and lifestyle – that offers an alternative to the mass-produced, while creating sustainable livelihoods in the rural sector. Fabindia links over 80,000 craft based rural producers to modern urban markets, thereby creating a base for skilled, sustainable rural employment, and preserving India's traditional handicrafts in the process. The textile-based product range includes ready-to-wear garments and accessories for men, women, teenagers and children; bed, bath, table and kitchen linen; floor coverings, upholstery fabric and curtains. Cotton, silk, wool, grass, linen and jute are the basic fibres used. The Home Products range carries furniture, lighting, stationery, tableware, cane baskets and a selection of handcrafted utility items. Fabindia Organics carries several types of cereals, grains, pulses, spices, sugar, tea, coffee, honey, fruit preserves and herbs across a range of natural and organic certifications. Fabindia's range of authentic Personal care products includes soaps, shampoos, hair oils, pure oils, moisturisers, body scrubs, face packs, hair conditioners & special skin...
Read moreI love fabindia and I do order online from Canada so obviously I couldn’t wait to go to fabindia when I was visiting India… but it was difficult to REALLY shop in this location for a number of reasons. I’m going to list what I remember in hopes that fabindia can improve their customer experience: 1- staff looked and acted very seriously 😒. No smiles, no trying to he friendly 2- staff hovered around us the whole time, the good thing was that they were not trying to be pushy to sell things to us. They were there to help but because they looked so grumpy, you didn’t want them around 3- couldn’t properly look at stuff as there was always a store employee was looking over your shoulder, again, not to sell to you but I guess they are told to be there in case customers need assistance? 4- very poor array of available sizes. Some things were available only in large, other things in small or XS. I couldn’t buy any clothing. I bought a bag. 5- before going to the store, I checked fabindia website and selected a bunch of things I wanted, none of which were available in this store!!! I hope fabindia can update their website to include store inventories. 6- this store doesn’t have any sale/discounted items which was a huge negative for me.
The highlight of this location is the cafe & the amazing customer service we received while having lunch. The gentleman working there kindly plugged in my cellphone so it was charging while I was shopping. So...
Read moreOnce the flagship store of FabIndia before they had any other outlets, it's sad to see how over expansion & lack of creativity has destroyed this brand. Three to four steep steps will lead you to the main level of the floor and then again more steps to the basement should you want to have a look at the men's collection which hasn't changed for years, same rainbow collection with a bit of change here and there. Almost no half shirt is less than ₹1,500 & no Kurta less than ₹2,500. All made of cotton and I had bought for half the price a couple of years back. Elevator from ground floor takes you to the second floor for women's collection which is half of a floor now, same.issue here, one or two pieces per design. They had two more stores in this market, a men's wear two floor one opposite this one and a home décor one beside this one, all closed down. No point coming...
