We wanted to try some different cuisine. We saw Laidback cafe and it said Shalom. That’s hello in Israeli. So we expected Lebanese cuisine. It’s a large restaurant divided in 2 parts. Backside is for Sheesha smokers and frontside for regular guests. Food ordered was a non veg platter (photo attached) at about Rs.1,100/- per platter. We ordered 2 for 5 adults and 2 kids. The manager advised that it should be sufficient. It took about 25 minutes for the food to come. And it looked appetizing with chicken wings, mutton samosas and chicken boneless roast along with pita bread. We found the non veg items ok . The Chicpea dip, Brinjal dip (babaganouse) and the mayo dip were nice. The pita bread was not upto the mark. They were small and very thin like a phulka roti and became hard in no time like a papad. We asked for more pita breads. It took them 15 minutes to get 3 more pita breads , by which time rest of the food got cold . We also found the food not sufficient for us. n 31st December , our family of Seven dined at Shalom Cafe in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon. While we initially enjoyed the ambiance and presentation, five of us subsequently suffered from severe food poisoning, resulting in intense diarrhea and other symptoms. My daughter and I are still recovering from the infection today, January 7th.

We ordered the Mezze Platter (specifically the recommended Mediterranean Platter) and sushi. We strongly suspect the meat used in these dishes was not properly handled or stored, resulting in bacterial contamination.

We are deeply disturbed by this incident. The lack of proper food safety standards and the subsequent severe illness experienced by our family is unacceptable. We expect a thorough investigation into the source of the contamination and a commitment to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. We will be seeking appropriate compensation for the medical expenses incurred and the distress caused.
