Horrible Experience at Park Hospital – Avoid at All Costs!
I recently admitted my father to Park Hospital for a general surgery, and I must say, this was the worst medical experience we have ever had. This place is a complete disaster in terms of management, hygiene, and patient care. Here’s why:
Overcrowded ICUs – The ICU is packed beyond its designed capacity. Patients are crammed in like cattle, with no space for proper movement or care. This is a serious health hazard. No Emergency Assistance – The patient calling system in the ICU is non-functional. Patients are left to scream for help, hoping that someone will hear them. This is not just negligence; it is pure inhumanity. Unhygienic Conditions – The dining utensils given to patients are filthy and unsanitary. The washrooms are in an equally disgusting state, and with only three washrooms for four ICUs, patients are forced to endure unbearable conditions. Incompetent & Ignorant Staff – The housekeeping staff is completely unresponsive. Even when patients or attendants raise concerns, they ignore them or pretend not to hear. The medical staff vanishes when needed the most. Useless Administration – Complaints to the hospital administration go completely unheard. Even after two rounds of visits from the Managing Director, there was zero improvement. The MD’s visit is clearly just a publicity stunt, as his team has no clue about patient cases until moments before his arrival. Lack of Basic Medical Supplies – Essential medicines are not available at the hospital dispensary during discharge, forcing patients to rush outside in critical conditions. This level of mismanagement is unacceptable. Exploitation of Patients – The hospital keeps billing information hidden until discharge, forcing patients to sign blank documents. They only disclose the bill five days later, leaving families helpless. This is fraudulent and completely unethical. Ancient & Dangerous Equipment – Their MRI machine is so outdated that it makes a deafening noise, potentially causing heart patients to collapse. The hospital makes zero effort to upgrade its technology, making it dangerous for patients. Misuse & Theft of Medicines – My father’s prescribed medicines kept mysteriously disappearing, and we had to repurchase them multiple times. Either the hospital is running a medicine scam, or its staff is stealing supplies. Forced Fake Reviews – At the time of discharge, the hospital forces patients to give positive video testimonials. If you refuse, they pressure you into compliance. This is nothing but a fraudulent cover-up for their failures. Broken Beds & Pathetic Patient Gowns – Many hospital beds are non-functional, making it impossible for patients to adjust their position. Complaints are ignored, and the cycle repeats for the next patient. The patient gowns are in terrible condition, with missing strings, leaving patients uncomfortable and embarrassed. Disrespect Towards Ex-Servicemen – The hospital completely disregards ex-servicemen’s status and treats them as just another patient in a money-making scheme. There is zero special consideration for their service to the nation. The ONLY Saving Grace, The Doctors While the hospital is a complete disaster, I must commend Dr. Salil Yadav, who performed my father’s surgery with excellence. His professionalism and follow-ups were commendable. However, even great doctors cannot save this hospital’s reputation when the administration is so corrupt...
Read moreICUs are over crowded in terms of bed against designed capacity. Non operational assistance calling system in ICUs and the patient has to shout and call the medical assistant for attending his issues. Sub standard utensils for dining used and are purely unhygienic. House keeping staff are deaf and do not listen to the requirements actually needed. Washrooms are always unhygienic due to the reason that for 4 ICUs there are only three washrooms and are always overcrowded. Administration is pathetic as there is no positive response for any issues raised. Medicines are NA in the dispensary at the time of discharge and patient has to suffer. In spite of two rounds of Managing director the entire process seems useless and is only for a name sake as the team with MD is no where visible in practical at any given point of time and appear suddenly at the time of MDs visit and have no idea of the patient details and are in process of learning and mugging the patient details 15 minutes prior to the visit. There is no patient wish for their diet choice. It is taken for granted that the patient will be only vegetarian. No dental kit issued and no oral health kits are provided. No consideration of facilities for ex servicemen as per their rank and are treated as herds with common process. The hospital hide the billing expense to the patient at the time of discharge and patient is bound to sign on a blank Park hospital letter head and the communicate that the billing details will be given after 5 days. Medical equipment (especially the MRI Machine) is from stone age. It makes a huge sound and weak heart patient will collapse due to the heavy sound generated by the machine. Patients are bound to wear or manage with manual made pads to cover their ears to avoid the sound but all in vain. Medicines are being procured from the dispensary for individual patients and my personal experience is that not all the medicines are used practically and 40% of the medicine and accessories used for treatment is found missing the very next day and a new set of medicines are again procured. At the time of discharge patient is bound for a video interview and are also bound to say all positive things for the hospital which is not healthy for the hospital. Patient beds are in pathetic state as the inclination mechanism of some of the beds are non operational. when complained, they had to adjust with other existing bed in the ICU so that if new patient is admitted, he or she will also experience the same dis comfort till he or she complains. The patient dress are again not in condition to wear as the strings of maximum of dresses are either broken or missing. Patient has to adjust for the entire day and expect a good and fully completed dress will be available next day.
SOME POSITIVE REVIEWS I had personal experience with my surgery and the process was excellent with Dr Salil Yadav who had done my general surgery and his follow ups post surgery is exemplary. I fear to state here that individual doctor reputation is deteriorating due to the administration and general practices going on in...
Read moreI recently visited Park Hospital, Gurgaon, expecting to receive medical care for a prescribed treatment, but what I experienced was a combination of negligence, unprofessionalism, and poor communication. Despite presenting a valid prescription from a licensed doctor at another hospital, the medical staff, including the attending doctor, refused to administer a simple injection. Their reasoning was unclear, with vague internal policies cited but never properly explained.
To make matters worse, the doctor on duty was not in formal dress code, which raised serious concerns about the professionalism at Park Hospital. It was highly disappointing to see a healthcare professional disregard basic standards, both in appearance and conduct. Furthermore, despite the situation being manageable, the doctor refused to help even on humanitarian grounds, a clear ethical failure.
I even took a photograph of the hospital's so-called "policy" displayed on a notice board. This policy, printed on a random A4 sheet and tacked up with irrelevant documents, provides no legal clarity. If Park Hospital is refusing to administer injections based on a legitimate legal provision, they should clearly cite the applicable law—not random, obscure text printed on a paper. Patients deserve transparent communication, especially when their health is on the line.
This refusal to provide care is not only unprofessional but also a violation of patient rights. Under Indian law, including the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, a valid prescription from any certified medical professional is recognized and must be honored across healthcare facilities. The fact that the hospital staff ignored this, without offering any valid legal basis, reflects a profound disregard for both the law and patient safety.
Additionally, this incident represents a breach of ethical obligations under the Consumer Protection Act, which ensures that patients receive competent care without negligence. Hospitals should prioritize patient welfare, but the refusal at Park Hospital forced me to travel further for a simple treatment that could have been easily administered on-site. The unnecessary delay created by their refusal could have had serious repercussions.
It is important for patients to know that denial of service based on a valid prescription is not only unlawful but also ethically questionable. I strongly urge Park Hospital to review their policies and ensure their staff communicate clearly and legally with patients rather than hiding behind random, irrelevant notices.
For anyone considering visiting Park Hospital, Gurgaon, I strongly recommend rethinking your choice. Trust is fundamental in healthcare, and Park Hospital’s negligence has completely...
