Really good kashmiri food after a long time! My mother is a state subject of J&K, and she approves :) We ordered a lot many items from the menu. The kehwa was superb! Reminded me of how my nanu used to make it. Mutton kababs were good. I felt it was a bit dry for my taste, but nevertheless quite tasty. Had the same with rotis and a chicken paratha as well for experimentation. Full marks. The accompaniment that is served with kababs (forgot the name), made with curd and radish, is delish. Family was all gaga about Dum Aloo, but the Mutton Yakhini was the prize winner! Mutton was soft, and could be broken with one hand easily. Ended the meal with Phirni. It was nice as well. One thing that stands out is the cutlery and crockery. Intricate metal plates and glassware adds to the overall ambience. The staff was courteous. Service was quick, but we were the only ones there. The ambience is awesome, it has diwan seating which I’m a big fan of! The restaurant is also easy to spot.
We started with kahwa that was just fantastic. Never imagined tea without milk would be this good! We had gotten a sweet biscuit (from the roti menu) to go with it. It was awesome too.
We had a lotus stem starter which was served with lightly pickled onions and a green chutney. It was a good appetiser. I had roti with a tomato panner gravy and my husband had rice and mutton roganjosh. Our main courses were fabulous!
For dessert, kheer was finished so we had the phirni. The phirni was just okay, not great not bad.
Apart from this, the service is prompt and the cutlery is unique and beautiful 🤩
Would recommend this place, and I’m visiting...
Read moreNo! No! It's not even close to kashmiri cuisine restaurants. Super expensive price, which is ok, as they claim the exclusive. However, it is super salty, and in spices they only know to add the kashmiri mirch. We had order 2 wazwan thali's ( which was served as ala cart, unlike the wazwan servings) the quality against the price was also not justified. Even the chef himself agrees on the taste feedback, and they had not charged us anything. Of course the food went back to the kitchen only. However, the habit of Non Charging doesn't ensure the apology of bad food.
The ambience was super stuffy.
In total, they need to work a loooooootttt to improve...
