Pathetic service at this branch.
My late father had a DEMAT account here which i have been trying to shut after his passing. When i submitted the papers to Ms. Harsha at the main counter, she did not inform me anything about pending charges or anything. Suddenly after waiting for a month, I get a letter from Mumbai saying the DEMAT account closure is rejected. I wen to the branch and met Ms. Harsha and thats where all the lies started.
Ms. Harsha did not have a clue about the reasons why the closure request was rejected. She told me that her system is down on a Tuesay. She gave me her personal number and said that I can call her to get the update. I sent her all the details on whatsapp on tuesday itself. After that I have been following up on whatsapp, which she has conveniently ignored and not replied. I tried calling her but she wouldnt answer her phone. Finally on Saturday she replied to my message after calling her several times and says that the system is still down. These people have this one reason for avoiding their work. "System is down". How can a bank system be down for over 5 days? And HDFC claims that they are the No. 1 bank in the country. I think it is only because they promise big things that people go to them but they are unable to hande anything from their side.
In spite of a death in the family, this is how the bank is treating me. My father's money is also stuck in his savings account because the savings account cannot be closed before the DEMAT account is closed. They are torturing my mother at this greicing time and making her run from pillar to post for just closure of the account.

Submitted application on 15Feb 2023 and its today 18apr2023 and still account has t been created.
First the application was with Mr. Ameet S. Who has been doing nothing but making me make rounds to the bank. He lies to my face with such stupid reasons lile account was stuck in audit, account has been created but just not linked(mind you this is illegal and very much can take legal action against bank if it happened. Not informing customer of an account being created in their name is illegal). If account was created why have I not received an email sms or anything. One day I caught him lying, he said he will reach bank in 15mins and send me information regarding account. I was already at bank and found out he is on a holiday. Obviously he didn't respond that day after the first few calls. Why lie. I might be polite but definitely not dumb.
After escalating this issue with the manager Mr. Rahul S, who too lies straight to your face. Was told by him my account will be up and running in the same week. Nothing of that sort happened. It took him 2 weeks to reassign the application. Fairly sure he too was lying to me while the application was still at Ameets desk.
What is the point of appointing relationship managers if none of them are going to work.

Read moreI wish there vere negative 5 starts. At Nigdi branch ..don't expect customer service at all here. Went in for some work today, one bank guy quickly approached and then diverted us to a counter. Was waiting at the counter for 20 mins, the personal banker spoke a couple of sentences. Then another bank officer in suit came in, just had a small discussion, again asking how can I help. I explained again what am I looking for. Then that guy left. We were still waiting for the service Then another bank lady came and took us to different counter inside. No one there inside on the counter. We were told to wait again patiently. Total 35 mins lost, without any relevant information and 1 min worth of time with banker. Now I have to go again tomorrow (may be couple of more times) for same thing. Pathetic customer service and this isn't first time. Then out of frustration I just visited totally different bank and was pleasantly surprised to see that other banks really want and care for customers. I am with hdfc since 10+ years and have hardly received decent customer service. Just that my account is linked to several things hence stuck. I would give negative 5 star to hdfc...
