Delhi Swad Restaurant, Pradhikaran Nigdi: A Blatant Rip-Off!
I am beyond furious after my recent experience with Delhi Swad Restaurant in Pradhikaran, Nigdi, and I am not holding back. Ordered through Zomato, expecting decent food for the hefty price tag—Dahi Wada (2 pieces) for Rs 195 and Paneer Biryani for Rs 340, totaling a ridiculous Rs 610 with delivery and platform charges. I figured the high cost meant quality and generous portions. Boy, was I wrong!
The Paneer Biryani was an absolute disgrace—barely 250 grams of food, with a measly five tiny pieces of paneer swimming in a burnt, acrid masala that ruined any chance of flavor. It was like they scraped the bottom of a charred pan and called it biryani. The Dahi Wada? An outright insult. The vadas were stale, soggy and tasted like they’d been sitting out for days, while the dahi was so sickeningly sweet it was inedible—like they dumped a bag of sugar into it. For Rs 195, I expected at least edible food, not this garbage.
Paying Rs 610 for this pathetic excuse of a meal is nothing short of fraud. The portions were laughably tiny, and the quality was so subpar it’s a wonder they have the audacity to charge these prices. When I raised the issue, both Delhi Swad’s management and Zomato shrugged it off, refusing to take any responsibility. This isn’t just bad service—it’s a deliberate scam.
I am warning everyone: steer clear of Delhi Swad. Don’t waste your hard-earned money on this trash when there are far better options in Nigdi that actually respect their customers. Save yourself the disappointment and avoid this place...
Read moreI visited this place on a weekend because a Delhi food obsessed friend wanted to have the "Delhi Jalebi" Pros: The food is fresh. If not reheated (refried) when needed. Either way, it's not left out too long. The cashier is efficient. You don't have to wait for the billing. The staff clears up empty tables and eateries quickly after a customer vacates a seat/table.
Cons: They are not customer centric. It's simple, you pay for your coupon, take the order, find a place for yourself wherever available if available, eat and walk off. Their business is to hand over the food. Period! Your hygiene isn't their problem. The food is fresh, so the cook may try to save time for more orders and compensate on quality. In my case, the Jalebi was fried, then it was conveniently dipped (no soaked) in the sweetened syrup. And served, crisp and unevenly sweetened.
The counters are all around the place with the customers in the middle. So, The place is poorly ventilated. It feels like an oven with hot food served.
Overall: I think I can get cheaper food with better taste off a roadside vendor. In either case, the hygiene is compromised. On one side, the roadside vendor makes sure the dish is marinated in sugary syrup and is...

After a lot of recommendations gave this outlet a quick visit when I was in Pune.
The place does prior justice to the name Delhi Swad! Just a perfect place around Nigdi to hog onto some lip-smacking North Indian Food. The place is always crowded especially in the evenings so you might have to wait for 10-15 minutes to get a seat. The service is fast and good. It has a basic table and chair seating arrangement is not so spacious but can accommodate around 15-20 people at a time. It has a Non- AC seating. Cleanliness can be improved.
Being a huge Chole Bhature lover I tried their Chole Bhature priced at just ₹70 which I soo worth the taste and the quantity. The chole is not the basic tomato and onion gravy based but tasted high on khada masala and a medium thick gravy. The bhature served were freshly made and very huge. One plate is enough filling for one person.
If you are someone who loves North Indian Food you should deifinately pay a visit to this...
