Bata Shoe Store — Local services in Mumbai

Went into this store today. Walked in with the intention of buying formal shoes for office. Walked out feeling disgusted that I wasted my time there. Very limited stock - I think even a small local footwear shop would have a bigger range. Sales persons - didn’t seem like they were interested in making any sale. They (2 of them) scanned me top to bottom to see what I was wearing (possibly to judge if I would buy anything). Agreed, that I looked rough because I was out in the pollution and heat since the last 2 hours, but they got it wrong. If they would have made any attempt to sell, I would have still tried something from the limited stock.This is probably the worst shop in terms of stock and salesmanship. Even the people who sell stuff on the road outside Malad station engage better with the people who walk past them. I felt like trying a couple of shoes, but the salesmanship was so poor (and made me feel like an unwelcome guest) that I just walked out after cooling down in the AC (that’s probably the best thing in that shop, one star is for the AC). Worst store I have ever goo , store manager asif , staff nikhil , I had a very disappointing experience at this store. When I entered, I was told that someone would attend to me shortly, but even after waiting for more than 10 minutes, no one came. I had to check the shoes on my own without any assistance, and there was absolutely no guidance regarding the products. Not a single staff member bothered to explain the prices or give any information about the collection.

What was even more frustrating is that the staff seemed completely uninterested in helping customers. They were standing around without any enthusiasm or effort to engage. As a customer, I expected at least basic courtesy and support, but unfortunately, that was missing here.

This kind of service leaves a very negative impression. If the staff cannot be attentive and helpful, it becomes very inconvenient and unwelcoming for customers. Definitely not the kind of experience one expects when...
