ਉੱਤਰਾਖੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਕੁਮਾਊਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਿਆ ਛੋਟਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਕਸਬਾ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ।ਉੱਤਰਾਖੰਡ ਦੇ ਬਾਗੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੀ ਗਰੁੜ ਤਹਿਸੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਿਆ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਇੱਕ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਕਸਬਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰਾਕ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ, ਮਨ ਲੁਭਾਉਣੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼, ਹਰੀਆਂ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਘਾਟੀਆਂ, ਰਮਣੀਕ ਮੌਸਮ ਤੇ ਬਰਫ਼ਾਂ ਲੱਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ਼ ਲਬਾਲਬ ਹੈ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ।ਇਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤਲ ਤੋਂ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ 1900 ਮੀਟਰ ਉੱਚੀ ਪਿੰਗਨਾਥ ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਤੇ ਵਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਅਲਮੋੜਾ ਤੋਂ 52 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਤੇ ਬਾਗੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਤੋਂ 37 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਕੋਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਮਤੀ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਉੱਚੀ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ। ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਮਨੌਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਕੌਸ਼ਿਕ ਮੁਨੀ ਨੇ ਕਠੋਰ ਤਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਕੌਸ਼ਿਕ ਮੁਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਇਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਪਿਆ। ਚੀੜ੍ਹ ਤੇ ਦੇਵਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਘਿਰਿਆ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਧਰਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਾਂਗ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਜੋ ਹਿਮਾਲਿਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਟੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਦਭੁੱਤ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਤਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ 1929 ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਤਮਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਨੂੰ 'ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਸਵਿਟਜ਼ਰਲੈਂਡ' ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਇਸ ਸੈਲਾਨੀ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਦੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਖ਼ਾਸੀਅਤ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਹਿਮਾਲਿਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਚੀਆਂ ਬਰਫ਼ਾਂ ਲੱਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਟੀਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਸ਼ੂਲ, ਨੰਦਾ ਦੇਵੀ, ਪੰਚਾਚੁਲੀ, ਨੰਦਾਘੁੰਟੀ, ਮ੍ਰਿਗਥੁਨੀ, ਚੌਖੰਭਾ ਆਦਿ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।ਇੱਥੇ ਆਕੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਹਰ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀ ਦੀ ਚਾਹਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।ਮੌਸਮ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਹਿਮਾਲਿਆ ਦਾ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ 300 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਲੰਬਾ ਪੈਨੋਰਮਿਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਦੇਖਕੇ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦੰਗ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅੰਨਾਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ, ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਟੀ ਅਸਟੇਟ, ਸੁਮਿਤਰਾਨੰਦਨ ਪੰਤ ਗੈਲਰੀ, ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਸ਼ਾਲ ਫੈਕਟਰੀ, ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ ਆਸ਼ਰਮ ਆਦਿ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੇਖਣਯੋਗ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਹਨ। ਇਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਰੁਦ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ਵਾਟਰਫਾਲ, ਸੋਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ, ਬੈਜਨਾਥ ਵਰਗੇ ਸੈਲਾਨੀ ਸਥਾਨ ਵੀ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਜ਼ਦੀਕ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਝਰਨਾ ਰੁਦ੍ਰਧਾਰੀ ਵਾਟਰਫਾਲ ਇੱਥੋਂ 12 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਪਿੰਡ ਕੰਟਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਝਰਨੇ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਲਈ ਪਿੰਡ ਤੋਂ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ ਦੋ ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਸੰਘਣੇ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੈਦਲ ਚੱਲਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬੈਜਨਾਥ ਇਥੋਂ ਤਕਰੀਬਨ 17 ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਗਰ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਣੇ ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਦੇਖਣਯੋਗ ਹਨ।ਦਸ ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਸੋਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਸੋਮੇਸ਼ਵਰ ਘਾਟੀ ਵੀ ਸੈਲਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਕਰਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦਸ ਕਿਲੋਮੀਟਰ ਦੂਰ ਡੌਨੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਫੈਲੀ ਹਰਿਆਵਲ, ਸੱਪ ਵਾਂਗ ਵਲ਼ ਖਾਂਦੀ ਸੜਕ, ਠੰਢੀਆਂ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਕੌਸਾਨੀ ਪਿੰਡ ਮਨਮੋਹਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ ਦੇਖਕੇ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤ...
