The Plataran Komodo is perfect in every way. Right down to every single beach lounge waiting with a fresh rolled beach towel, as soon as you leave one it is replaced with a fresh towel. Kimonos in wardrobe, umbrella's & even a stylishly platted reed beach basket for you to take to the beach, pool or excursions. Turn down service is immaculate fresh biscuits in crystal jar, slippers beside the bed, fresh towels replaced morning & night, bath salts, mosquito electric mini lights. They even provide mosquito cream on bedside table. Rooms are styled in a plantation way, just beautiful. Privacy is key even though your room has an ocean view, as the planting and verandah settings provide the utmost of privacy. The staff are the most attentive we have ever come across any request was promptly actioned. Breakfast ready for a King & Queen, we had a Ceoliac in our group and the chef Goon was exceptional even baking muffins & bread specially gluten free. The Ceoliac did NOT even have one reaction from having gluten, amazing communication by all staff. We went on a free guided glass bottom canoe ride, where V lead us on his paddle board around the neighbouring island looking at all of the underwater reefs & tried to spot monkeys on the island. We also had a go at stand up paddle boarding & they also provided the best snorkelling gear ... no leaking masks, snorkel & the flippers were the best quality by far. FREE NO time limit as the other place (sudamala do not stay there)You do not realise until you have had a bad experience that all of these things add up to a magnificent relaxing holiday. We stayed 3 nights in a duplex villa, then left on the fourth day to do Komodo island, Padar etc, because we were leaving 6.30am we chose our breakfast the night before and were given breakfast boxes, including juices, hot Latte, egg Benedict, fruit plater & fresh Danish & doughnuts... truly amazing. We had a wonderful day touring & were dropped off to our next accommodation an private island paradise NOT!!! We stayed 1 night (payed for 3!!!) We contacted Plataran and rebooked 2 nights in the Limasan beach front & it was so nice to return to friendly management (not like the disgustingly rude ones at Sudamala Seraya). Our beds even had a welcome back message written in plants & flowers. On our last night Eggi our matradee arranged a private beach dinner which looked so special & chef Goon made a special Indonesian banana dessert for us all. We could not recommend The Plataran more highly from the seafood BBQ buffet $45 per head (other place $65 for mostly vegetables!!). The extras you would pay everywhere else at a 6 star resort are included in your price at the Plataran, don't pay the same amount for a 3 star NOT private island. Labuan Bajo is beautiful &...

We had an excellent stay at the hotel Plataran Labuan Bajo. The accommodation was immaculate and the staff could not have been more helpful and delightful. |We stayed for 3 nights in a beautiful villa (the private pool was a surprise!) which was very spacious and grand. The bed was enormous! |The only negative was that the layout of the hotel complex was a little confusing and there was no light outside our villa so we had a few stubbed toes trying to get in in the evenings! |The breakfast at the hotel's Xanadu restaurant was good, but you may want to find alternatives for dinner in the nearby town of Labuan Bajo as when we ate at the Atlantis on the Rocks restaurant the food was a bit odd (a large pile of deep fried 'beef bacon' for the other half and I had barracuda skewers but they were 'formed' into odd large sausages on sticks mixed with some kind of meat I think). Wine was also very expensive so we did not choose that. Cocktails were good and reasonably priced. |Admired the hotel's efforts to be gentle on the environment but there were a few things that could perhaps be optional, such as not having new indoor flip flops every night (even if not worn) and putting all the lights and freezing air con on during the turn down service. We did get a little note to say we had helped to plant a mangrove tree but where or how I'm not sure. |The grounds were beautiful and tranquil as was the beach and sea, which was literally right there in front of you. It's a shallow and sheltered bay so pleasant for swimming. |The staff were always on hand to help, wherever we went, and were very kind. Our 'personal butler' was assigned to us on arrival and Nando couldn't have been more obliging. He organised taxis to town, a sunshade by our pool, drinks to be brought up, etc. He checked in by WhatsApp often and kept us updated about pickups etc. Thank you to Nando and all the staff!|I'd highly recommend a stay in the Plataran if you are visiting Flores. It is only 15 minutes from the airport and is the perfect base for trips to Komodo, Padar, etc, by boat from the hotel's own...

The Plataran in Komodo is by far the BEST resort I have ever stayed at. We had the most incredible experience from the moment we arrived. Our plane landed early and we weren't due to check in until around 4pm, but when we got to the resort Syam worked incredibly hard to get our room ready as soon as he could. When we arrived, we got a tour of the place and we were shocked by how gorgeous the resort is. The pictures absolutely do not do this place justice. After walking around the resort for only 30 minutes, our rooms were ready.

We were supposed to go to rangko cave, but since the area surrounding the resort was so beautiful we decided to explore the resort instead. Kayaking, snorkeling, biking, and paddle boarding are all including in the stay. We got a kayak with a glass bottom and went to a nearby island. On the way, we saw a sea turtle, reef sharks, and some of the most beautiful coral reef I have ever seen. The next day we went snorkeling to see more of the marine life around. It's insane that this was available right outside of our room.

Our room was incredible. Everything was clean and neat on arrival, even though we checked in several hours early. The rooms were huge and comfortable. By far the nicest rooms of all the resorts we stayed at in Indonesia.

The most impressive thing about this resort is the service. Syam was taking care of us and he went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Everytime went out he would arrange for a driver. He would take care of anything we needed. Even when I forgot my jacket, he drove all the way to the airport himself to make sure I didn't leave it behind! Truly, the service we received here was second to none. This was by far the best experience we...

A nice resort with comfortable rooms, but it's a little bit confused about what it wants to be. It seems like the Plataran group spent a bunch of money to set the place up well, but the management and operations are lacking. For example, the carved wood features are very nice, but the welcome is awkward- they make you take a photo with a Flores warrior, but there's no real context for it. You arrive dazed from a long flight, and then suddenly you're standing next to a bare-chested guy holding a whip. Whaaat??? The rooms are nice, but again, they haven't gotten the details quite right. For example, they have a capsule coffee maker in the room, but it has a 3 prong plug but all the electrical outlets are for 2 prongs, so you can't use it. The beach here is okay, but not great. The beach isn't nearly as nice as those out on some of the nearby islands. They have some old kayaks to borrow to paddle out to Monkey Island. The setting is nice though and it's a good place to watch the sunset. However, the location is a bit isolated. It's about a 20 minute drive over bad roads into Bajo. They don't seem to want business for transport to town or boat tours out to the islands; they set their prices far too high. For example, they ask for rp250k to get a car to town, but it's easy to find a taxi for rp100k. If you want a tour to Komodo, you'll find it for about 1/3 the price if you book in Labuan Bajo instead of the hotel. The food from the restaurant is very tasty, and was some of the best that I ate in Flores. Details are lacking though. It's a relaxed beach setting, but they have white table cloths. The service was okay, but not on par with what you'd expect for the prices you pay here.
