It exceeded our expectations! 5 stars is not enough!

First time we just did a walk-in and immediately felt welcome! The spa was located in a quiet spot, facing the greenery. The offer is limited to maybe 5-6 treatments, but that's probably exactly what makes it so great.

We received a questionnaire for our preferences and health info, and we let ourselves be a bit more specific than usual in what we need and what we wouldn't like. We went to couple of massage salons in Bali, but Ancient Spa was the only place where we felt that our needs are top priority instead of formality. We got refreshing lime&lemongrass water and were given 3 sample oil scents to choose from. In the massage space we could take a shower before the treatment which is just a nice thing to do in such a tropical climate. Once ready, we started with a warm foot bath with a scrub. Our therapists were Mira and Wayan, and we both enjoyed their massage so much that we came back next day.

Mira's massage was super attentive and very intuitive. She paid attention to my feedback and also checked in regularly, but not too often. That kept me in the relaxing mood. Once I would indicate that one part of leg needed softer touch, she would perfectly adjust the pressure - remaining strong and firm on upper leg, and soft on the calf. That was very smooth, even though I had specific needs in only one leg, due to some old injuries. This level of attention and care is what makes Ubud Ancient Spa an AMAZING massage salon.

Absolutely Enchanting Experience at Ubud Ancient Spa!

My visit to Ubud Ancient Spa was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Bali's serene landscapes, the spa offers an authentic and deeply rejuvenating experience. From the moment I arrived, the warm hospitality and tranquil ambiance set the stage for a perfect retreat.

The spa's traditional Balinese treatments are exceptional, blending ancient techniques with natural ingredients to create a truly healing experience. The therapists are highly skilled, ensuring every treatment is both relaxing and therapeutic. I particularly enjoyed the Balinese massage, which melted away all my stress and left me feeling refreshed and revitalized.

The spa service was alright, skill massage could've been better elsewhere and everything was very unclear. They never mentioned the proper procedure for each treatment. We chose a body scrub, and we were freezing cold during the session, which made us suffer. That also was our first time. But that’s not all—we got scammed!

We were a group of seven and booked two sessions. We chose the 90-minute spa service, priced at 350,000 IDR. The first session was from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, and the second should have been from 8:00 to 9:30 PM. However, we didn’t realize they closed at 9 PM, and they never informed us, so we paid the full price.

So what happened was after the first session, a group of four paid for all seven of us, totaling 2,523,500 IDR. After the second session, the group of three came out at 9 PM sharp, but we didn’t realize it was only an hour long. They never mentioned anything, and we only realized it when we returned to our villa.
