Coppolas takeaway Mullingar — Local services in County Westmeath

Mullingar is a town with an overabundance of good restaurants and great fast food outlets. Coppolas (over 50 years in the town) is, and was, considered one of the best, the chips drenched in the vinegar (with the secret recipe) and the small beef burgers dripping with red sauce a town favourite.

Ventured back in after a long break, and was curious after all these years, if the tastes stand the test of time. Unfortunately I have to say what I received was not on a par to what I had before. Burger was fine, but the chips just didn't cut it, no where hitting the high standards of yesteryear, was dry and full of fat/oil. Disappointing.

I know the guys who run the chipper in Collinstown have recently taken over this joint. They run a very good operation out in the country so I am sure it was only a small blip.............I hope so, as Copploas was always my fav chippy...

The service there was absolutely disgraceful. The last time we placed an order with them over the phone, the woman on the other line was very rude and had me on hold for over 3 minutes talking to another employee.We waited 2 hours for our food to come after calling and asking multiple times when the food would be delivered. Also the time before that we placed an order when the restaurant was closed which on our part was our fault completely but at the same time the website was working and taking orders. When we issued a refund we never got it after asking multiple times. I do not...

After finding this place, its the best chipper in town (Mullingar) for anything that catches your fancy... Well packaged to keep warm. Doner kebab is phenomenal... chips are cooked perfectly with clean oil.. garlic dip is on point, perfectly garlic and thick! Gorgeous... food is 5/5 all day...
