Today I was invited to Mekong for dinner and my experience was terrible! I ordered Wok Stir Fried Duck with Teriyaki sauce and steamed Japanese rice. Rice was unprocessed and aged at least 4 hours, the duck was dry and rubbery, like I would eat old beef. On top of that, cut some vegetables on large pieces, all mixed with teriyaki sauce for half a minute. Such a quality meal could be cooked by a 15-year-old student without knowledge of Japanese or Chinese cooking. When I asked waiters what kind of kitchen they were, they answered that they were one of Asian cuisine. All of them were shaped like professionals but there is nothing to praise, believe me. Even if you offer half-price meals over lunch, it is not worth it. Or would Irish be bad cooks and can't recognize the good quality and taste of food? I do not believe that, because Ireland and Irish itself are, according to me, one of the best people and lands on this planet! Finally: don't go there to make the same...
Read moreVery rude waitress that made us feel very unwelcome and awkward when our daughter asked if a dish could be made with chicken rather than duck. She talked down to our daughter and told her she should order a differnt dish with chicken by another name rather than have them prepare it in a way she likes it. The manager attempted to warm the air, but we still decided to leave which I have never done before in a restaurant. We did dine across the street at Ilia cafe which was a great experience and quite nice steak, wraps, nice salads and a pasta white sauce dish, vegetable soup and an amazingly kind waitress. She helped us put together wonderful tarts and pastries for my aunt who we were in visiting at a local nursing home. Advice to staff : No room for belligerent behaviors in the service industry. Be respectful to all customers including children and your business will grow. Treat people poorly leads to failure in...
