READ THIS BEFORE BUYING A KITCHEN FROM IKEA TORINO
I'm writing this detailed review because I want people to avoid the experience I had. If you take 10 minutes to go through past reviews of Torino Ikea you will see that many, many people have had bad experiences because of AF LOGISTICS--Ikea's partner. SUMMARY:
IKEA'S materials and appliances vary in price and quality and people have different opinions: depending if it's entry-level you can accept fragility in exchange for a lower price. For their higher-end products, they may not be worth the cost.
*If you like IKEA kitchens that's a valid choice: but think very carefully about letting AF Logistics handle the installation:
*they're unreliable--they show up way too early, or way too late, they may call you suddenly and tell you there going to arrive in 5 minutes when yesterday they told you they would arrive at a totally different time
*their workers are frequently incompetent, unmotivated--unsurprising because they're paid very little--which in turn means they have high turnover and therefore they have a lot of newbies working for them. And given the fragility of many IKEA particle-board materials, inexperienced workers can easily cause damage
*AF Logistics workers will cut corners, because they're poorly compensated and probably rushed by their supervisors, if they can save time by leaving out some important steps--especially if these tasks are not obvious--they may do so.
Examples: even though they hooked our stove smoke exhaust, they didn't attach the smoke duct. They also didn't attach the water overflow pipe to the kitchen sink
*If anything in your kitchen is even a LITTLE bit non-standard (which is very common in older houses) there is a likelihood that the whole AF Logistics team will run and leave everything as-is, with the kitchen half-built.
*they often broke things and left a mess. Ikea components break very easily--sometimes it seems you can just breathe on the veneer and gouge it. These guys made quite a few glitches, scuffs, and even left blood on the wall. Unused fasteners and leftovers were simply sitting on top of the cabinets, saw dust was also not cleaned up.
*Lego-like assembly of Ikea components is about as far as their 'expertise' goes: if it comes to electrical work or plumbing, they can't (or won't) do much.
*If you try and contact AF Logistics yourself, good luck, because they’re RUDE and utterly unhelpful.
We paid upwards of 8.000 euros to IKEA for the installation of a quite simple kitchen, but the process ended up being very long, frustrating, stressful, and even more expensive.
It's a DISGRACE that Ikea continues to use AF Logistics as their partner for installing kitchens--despite the many, many highly negative reviews from clients.
For this reason I recommend any potential IKEA kitchen clients, get somebody else, somebody responsible and somebody answerable to YOU, because AF Logistics does not care.
There are many workers who can install these kitchens for you--it's not mandatory to use their incompetent partner: you’ll save time, you’ll get a much better result, functionally and aesthetically--and you'll probably save a bit of money as well.
Anyway, it's your choice. If your project is very simple and the spaces very open in a new building, you might be ok with AF Logistics, but it's still...
Read moresweden, take care of ikea torino: lack of customer service training, lack of empathy, lack of organization and poor communication skills: we spent nearly 1000€ , brought back a broken product worth 7€, they wouldn’t exchange it. one defect voucher card (worth 75€): it took them 15min to replace it. last but not least ;) we tried to end on a good note enjoying the swedish meetball with swedish sauce (7:15PM): 8 meatballs (no swedish sauce- they forgot to order it) with 10 “plastic cold fries” for 7€ and to end well, they make you pay now for mayo & ketch-up; all of this in italy, THE food paradise. why should i come back, tell me? i’m on my way to get a decent pizza for 8€. did i mention that we drove all the way down here (40min) for this disappointment; i wonder why the place was completely empty. careful torino, ikea provides for many...
Read moreThis was my first very bad experience with IKEA's Restaurant. Arrived at 5:30 pm to have the quality meal that IKEA always provides, however left sorely disappointed. All the food looked like it was on display from the beginning of the day, potatoe puree was stone cold and few meatballs were drowning in a watery-greasy fluid. The service was terrible, meatballs were flying in the air for the server was not very careful. We didn't get any brown sauce or cranberry, when we asked for it, it was served with the same manner as the meatballs before - sauce was unappetizingly splashed all over the plate and there was only a small teaspoon of cranberries.
I also don't recommend tiramisu. Having tried different regional desserts in other countries which were good, famous Italian tiramisu in IKEA...
