The Genoa Saint George Bridge is a motorway viaduct that crosses the Polcevera river and the districts of Sampierdarena and Cornigliano, in the city of Genoa. It was designed by architect Renzo Piano. The bridge replaces the Ponte Morandi, which partially collapsed on 14 August 2018 and was demolished in June 2019.

Wir sind auf dem Weg von Italien nach Frankreich dort vorbei gefahren. Ich will die Brücke nur von Sicht der Architektur betrachten. Es ist sehr ein Meister Werk. Man fragt sich nur, warum muss etwas sehr tragische Ereignis passieren… Damit man in Genua eine andere , neue und sichere Brücke gebaut hat. Noch dazu in eine sehr kurze Zeit Aufwand. Wir waren nur unten. Man merkt nicht einmal das oben fahrende Auto Geräuschen. Unten haben Kinder von der Gegend Fußball gespielt. Vorher bin ich nur drüber gefahren. Das was jetzt umgekehrt. Unten fotografiert und die Brücke betrachtet.

Tutto sommato è un viadotto come molti che sono presenti lungo le autostrade italiane; se non fosse stato ricostruito in brevissimo tempo dopo il crollo del precedente, passerebbe inosservato come tutti gli altri. L'unica differenza è la presenza di luce artificiale diffusa dai pennoni che lo caratterizzano. Chi lo percorre in auto quasi non si accorge di essere su un viadotto...

Extreem indrukwekkend. Deze zomer over heen gereden vanuit Frankrijk. Sensatie van indrukken. Onwerkelijk hoe snel deze brug is gebouwd. Paar weken geleden wederom overheen gereden naar Genua. Het voelt zo onwerkelijk.’

🏗️ Il Ponte San Giorgio a Genova è un'opera d'ingegneria straordinaria, che si presenta come un'architettura moderna e innovativa.

🌆La struttura, lunga 1.067 metri e alta 40 metri, attraversa la valle del fiume Polcevera, offrendo una vista mozzafiato sulla città.

🌉Il ponte è stato progettato dall'architetto Renzo Piano e realizzato dalle società Webuild e Italferr, con un'attenzione particolare alla sicurezza e alla sostenibilità.

🌟La scelta del nome "San Giorgio" è stata motivata dalla storia e dalla leggenda del santo, che è molto caro ai genovesi. 🏰Il ponte è stato inaugurato il 3 agosto 2020, a quasi due anni dal crollo del Ponte Morandi, e rappresenta un simbolo di rinascita e di speranza per la città.

💪La struttura è dotata di oltre 240 sensori per monitorare la sicurezza, un sistema robotico per l'ispezione e la pulizia, e pannelli fotovoltaici per l'illuminazione.
