Mellon Bistrot — Local services in Genoa

Truly a gem in Genova, we returned almost every day during our week long stay in the city. The owners are really welcoming and friendly and preparing their dishes with heart. They were flexible about intolerances and food preferences which is a nice personal touch. They have a regularly changing menu (but also a fixed one) which is suitable for different diets (e.g. vegetarian, lactose free, gluten free etc). Pricing is quite reasonable, especially if you consider the quality you receive for it. Their lemon and almond pesto is to die for, 100% recommended...

Abitando in zona sono venuto a pranzare con il mio cane in questo ristorante pub situato in pieno centro a Genova Carignano in alto in Via Fieschi. Questo ristorante organizza serate sia di karaoke sia di musica dal vivo durante la settimana ed ha menu del giorno a pranzo che cambia frequentemente. Ristorante ha tavoli di legno solo interni in diverse sale interne. Ho scelto un primo spaghetti al nero con ragù di polpo veramente squisito abbondante saporito e come dolce una mela. I proprietari Stefano e Sonia accoglienti sorridenti competente cordiali e disponibili mentre il servizio è stato attentissimo veloce. Per quanto riguarda i prezzi veramente buoni considerando l’elevata qualità dei piatti.

Op weg naar een ander restaurant liepen we schuin tegenover ons hotel tegen Mellon Bistrot aan. De menukaart en het op krijtbord geschreven dagmenu spraken aan. Aangezien we op het einde van de dag al veel wandelkilometers hadden gemaakt, waagden we het erop. Wat een verrassing! Een gastrobar die zijn naam eer aan doet. Gastronomie op orde en mooie wijn en nog véél meer keuze uit speciale bieren. Wat een prettig restaurant is dit. Mooie typisch Ligurische gerechten tegen een betaalbare prijs. Zwarte spaghetti met octopus. Een mooi gerecht met stokvis. Op de kaart weliswaar - met uitzondering van hamburgers - geen gerechten met vlees, maar de eigenaren boden meteen een optie aan.
