The fact that I am the first person to review this place in English says all you need to know! We went to Murualvata for a meal on our last night in Sardinia and wow - I was not disappointed. This place is like going to your granny's house for a huge family meal, everything is home prepared (even some of the wine), really fresh and served with the kind of heart only home cooking can deliver. ||||Be sure to call ahead to book a table (we got asked if we had a reservation about 4 times when we turned up - despite the fact we were one of just three tables that evening). Once you arrive you can choose to sit outside on the terrace or inside in a well lit dining room. We opted for outside, and fear not, there are plenty of mosquito coils burning to keep any bugs away. Once seated you will be presented with food, food and more food - as well as two litres of wine (one red and one white)! ||||There is no menu in this place so be prepared to be open minded - and perhaps have any allergies written down for you in Italian if you can't speak the lingo. The beauty of not having to order is that every course is a lovely surprise, and when I went there was not a single dish that was not delicious. To give you a taste of what you are in for we had grilled aubergine, some sort of amazing mushed guacamole type thing on toast, red and yellow peppers in oil and an assortment of local prosciutto and sausage for starters, all accompanied by local breads and some slices of cheese as well as olives. ||||For Primi we were treated to home made gnocchi with a ragu sauce, home made raviolli and a local soup (which was basically melted cheese in a bowl). This was followed by a lovely fresh salad which was served with local cold pressed olive oil which was a really nice touch. By this point we were pretty full, but then a huge plate of roasted pork with rosemary roasted potatoes arrived and it was so amazing: stomach space was found! The main was then followed by two desserts (cheesecake AND tiramisu) as well as a plate of fresh fruit and a glass of local liquor.||||All of this cost just EUR 35 each - making it by far the best value meal we had all holiday. I would highly recommend this place if you want to try something off the beaten track and away from the tourist buzz. While it is not a fancy place by any stretch (dirt road leading to the restaurant etc.) this feels like the real Sardinia and our experience was made complete by the owner and chef coming out the kitchen once everyone is fed to sit with the regulars and share his home made liquor. Plus - although I didn't come with kids, I think this would be a good option for families as there is an extensive children's play area situated in the middle of all the tables which I can imagine would be great to entertain the little ones while parents...

This restaurant/agriturismo is just a PEARL: great atmosphere, fresh products, typical plates and reasonable pricesâŠ(yes, you read me well).
It finally offered us the touch of Sardenian authenticity that is so rare to find in Costa Smeralda those days!
The restaurant is located in the hills, only a few kilometers from Porto Cervo, it was totally worth the visit (we went there twice this week)!!!
Donât miss! đ

Read moreMurualvata was one of the best dinners we had in Sardegna. Beautiful farm land in the hills, covered in olive trees and stunning mountains. We ordered traditional Sardegnian food like the Culugiones âŹ12 (incredible with a fresh mind taste, co weed in tomato sauce). The Lasagne of Aunt Magdalena is to die for. Thin noodles and soft and cheese OMG!!! Then we had to get the Sardinian Pork.. great if you like pork. Fresh Fruit for dessert or tiramisu if you already had the Sardinian Seadas. The place is family owned and operated by the gracious owner and his son. It was wonderful to meet them...
