Le Dune beach — Local services in Pisa

If you are looking for a day trip from Florence, this is an excellent option! We took 1 hour 20 minute train from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Station to Livorno Centrale and then a taxi to Le Dune Beach and rented a couple of beach chairs. It was a very restful experience. Very few people and very pleasant. The staff was awesome and the food was seafood was excellent! When it was time to leave the manager called a taxi for us and took us back to the train station and back to Florence. Ho prenotato il lido telefonicamente per due lettini e un ombrellone il 2 di Giugno ed ho speso 30€ l'intera giornata. Il costo per me è un po' eccessivo, soprattutto ad inizio Giugno, capisco la festività, ma la stagione non è ancora partita al 100*100. I lettini sono quelli classici, quindi non tanto comodi e non si ha nessun altro servizio incluso. Ci sono anche i gazebo, ed il costo di quest'ultimi il 2 giugno era di 50€ per l'intera giornata. Ho prenotato anche il ristorante del lido e abbiamo pranzato nel terrazzino vista mare. Due primi di pesce, di cui una linguina allo scoglio e uno gnocco con zafferano, pomodorini e gamberi, un secondo di pesce, nello specifico polpo e patate; un'acqua naturale, un quartino di vino frizzante e due caffè, spesa totale 64€ circa. Piatti buoni, gustosi e il pesce sembrava fresco. Qualche consiglio e miglioria da apportare: in un piatto di gnocchi e gamberi, non ci può essere soltanto un gambero, visto quello che costa. L'acqua va servita fresca, tolta dal frigo un secondo prima, invece è arrivata al tavolo a temperatura ambiente ovvero calda e senza neanche il ghiaccio a parte. I prezzi del ristorante sono nella media, ripeto per alcuni piatti forse sono troppo alti, come per lo gnocco ai gamberi o per il polpo e patate che era una porzione piccola. Non è stato tutto malvagio, ma c'è sicuramente qualcosa da migliorare. Carino anche l'aperitivo che si può fare in alcuni tavoli a ridosso della spiaggia. Per darvi un'idea, due aperol spritz 14€. Parcheggio all'esterno, in strada e nelle zone adiacenti. Parcheggi privati non ne ho visti ma credo non...

As long as you avoid the "restaurant", the beach is very nice. Bring something to eat and drink however, because the only opportunity around offers average fast food, paired with 30 min. waiting times for a salad and the most inadequate service we have experienced in Italy for years - stressed waiters, rude owner and staff that simply does not care about your comfort at all.
