Scoprire i luoghi e la storia della nostra meravigliosa Italia mi emoziona e sorprende sempre. Rieti e la sua "città Sotterranea" . Rita Giovannelli, appassionata e sapiente guida, ci ha accompagnati lungo l'antica via Roma fino al ponte sul fiume Velino, con le sue acque limpide e pulite, facendoci ammirare i resti di un ponte Romano, l'impagabile panorama del monte Terminillo, con i due fratelli più piccoli che svettano al suo fianco, e raccontarci l'affascinante storia, dall'epoca romana fino ai nostri giorni. Successivamente ci ha sorpresi facendoci immergere nel ventre di una parte della città, i sotterranei del maestoso Palazzo Vecchiarelli, che sono all'altezza del fiume, infatti nell'antichità era presente un porto, e qui facevano manovra le imbarcazioni cariche di mercanzia. Ora i muraglioni proteggono dalle piene del fiume. Qui abbiamo scoperto mura ed archi romani, grandi stanze a volta, scale elicoidali e un pozzo. Approfondire la storia sulla via salaria per via del sale che veniva trasportato, e collega Rieti a Roma, e trovarci all'ombelico dell'Italia. Sì, proprio così, c'è un monumento circolare nella piazza che lo indica, il punto esatto del centro d'Italia! La città merita la visita. Per via del breve tempo disponibile, ci siamo ripromessi di tornare a visitare gli altri monumenti palazzi, opere e cinte murarie che questa città conserva magnificamente. Abbiamo notato le colline circostanti dove sicuramente avremo modo di fare trekking, mountain bike o delle passeggiate immersi nella natura. :)

Discovering the places and history of our wonderful Italy always excites and surprises me. Rieti and its "Underground City". Rita Giovannelli, a passionate and knowledgeable guide, accompanied us along the ancient Via Roma to the bridge over the Velino river, with its clear and clean waters, making us admire the remains of a Roman bridge, the priceless panorama of Mount Terminillo and with the two younger brothers who stand at his side, and tell us the fascinating story, from Roman times to the present day. Afterwards he surprised us by making us dive in the belly of a part of the city, the basements of the majestic Palazzo Vecchiarelli, which are at the level of the river, in fact in ancient times there was a port, and here boats loaded with merchandise were manoeuvred. Now the walls protect from the river's floods. Here we discovered Roman walls and arches, large vaulted rooms, spiral staircases and a well. Delve deeper into the history of the Via Salaria due to the salt that was transported, and connects Rieti to Rome, and find ourselves at the navel of Italy. Yes, that's right, there is a circular monument in the square that indicates it, the exact spot in the center of Italy! The city is worth the visit. Due to the short time available, we promised ourselves to return to visit the other monuments, buildings, works and city walls that this city preserves magnificently. We noticed the surrounding hills where we will certainly have the opportunity to go trekking, mountain biking or walking surrounded...

Italiano: "Guida poco professionale e disorganizzata. Durante il tour, ci siamo trovati di fronte a una serie di circostanze deludenti e fuorvianti. La guida, anziché fornire informazioni pertinenti al percorso previsto, si è dilungata in discorsi astratti e fuori tema, arrivando persino a parlare della creazione dell'universo. Tale condotta ha generato confusione e ha compromesso l'esperienza complessiva del tour. Inoltre, abbiamo riscontrato un'evidente discrepanza tra ciò che ci era stato promesso e ciò che è stato effettivamente consegnato: anziché l'oro concordato, ci è stata consegnata una pietra di valore nettamente inferiore. Il costo del tour si è rivelato sproporzionato rispetto alla qualità del servizio offerto. L'assenza di professionalità da parte della guida, unita alla mancanza di controllo sulla veridicità delle informazioni fornite, ha reso l'intera esperienza del tour deludente e poco soddisfacente. Consiglio di rivedere attentamente la qualità del servizio offerto al fine di garantire un'esperienza più gratificante per i futuri partecipanti."

Instead of providing relevant information pertinent to the planned route, the guide digressed into abstract and off-topic discussions, even delving into the creation of the universe. Such conduct resulted in confusion and compromised the overall tour experience. Furthermore, there was a glaring discrepancy between what was promised and what was actually delivered: instead of the agreed-upon gold, we were given a significantly less valuable stone. The cost of the tour proved disproportionate to the quality of service provided. Enjoyed the visit of Rieti Sotterranea, which is Underground Rieti. Rita, our local tour guide, was very good at explaining the story of the underground city and how people lived lives back then. You start the visit from Via del Porto (Street of the Port) which is quite bizarre to think about when you consider you are in a small city at the footsteps of the mountains.
