UCI Cinemas Verona — Local services in San Giovanni Lupatoto

Mmm...not good overall. I booked tickets here for the first and last time. I booked 4 tickets, 2 adults and two under14 as a birthday gift for my daughter's friend and her mom which unfortunately got sick and couldn't make it. I chatted with the UCI service online. No replacement or refund or change of dates. *I booked online (and someone at the cinema told me: "you shouldn't have, it costs less at the door". True fact there is a commission of 1€ for each online ticket. *so (I tried to adk a couple of families whether they wanted to buy the 2 spare tickets I had, even at a lesser price as most looked at me like I came from another planet: "With the UCI card it costs less, don't you know??". *Then as a family of three said yes and at the reception the lady checked for seats next to each other and she said there were none available (guess what: me and my daughter had at least 8 seats for ourselves. ..) So I lost it and went in with my 4 tickets. Spent a whopping 9.5€ for a packet of M&M's (half I swallowed in less than 2 mins for the anger), and a bag of overly salty popcorn. Halfway through the movie , start time 16.30, really 5pm with a boring, boring half hour of publicity and a few movie trailers (which they played TWICE in case you missed the first round), my little girl wanted something to eat: "Mom, we mist experience the theatre food, right?" (And how could I say no, after all it was her very first time at the cinema, bless her). So I paid another 17.50€ for 2 awful hotdogs (how could you make them so bad I have no idea...), and a 33ml of cheap beer, cheap in the taste but soooo astronomically expensive! I won't forget to mention that at least when I told one girl at the reception about me contacting UCI to move dates at least she has been kind enough to give us 2 free tickets (to use only on certain movies or times I have atill to check I don’t know. .).

Soooo: over 60€ as per the first and last time at the UCI. I clearly am not a happy bunny about the all thing. At least my little one enjoyed the movie.

Would have given 3 stars because of the horrid underground parking and rather dark toilets, but the image quality and the audio quality of the movie (Dune 2) were perfect, and the personnel very nice and eager to help. The seats are good (try the VIP ones), and the popcorn was excellent.

So, all in all, a positive experience. Just stay away from the underground parking if you can. And for the UCI management - bring in some lights to the toilets and clean them up a little, and you'd get 5 stars.

Ps. I truly enjoyed one of the very few cinemas in Verona where you can see movies undubbed, with the original audio. There were a dozen expats enjoying the original version of Dune this evening, so thank you, UCI Cinemas, for this rather...

Multisala facente parte di una grande catena che propone film da classifica. Posizione buona in zona industriale facilmente raggiungibile con buona disponibilità di parcheggio. Purtroppo le note positive finiscono qui. La pulizia delle sale lascia molto a desiderare nonostante prima della proiezione entri il personale a pulire (teoricamente). La qualità della proiezione raramente è soddisfacente, è più probabile che sia sfuocata o comunque di bassa qualità. Mi è capitato pure un film in 3D che per i primi 10 minuti era proiettato in modo sbagliato. Uscito fuori e avvisato il personale, hanno sistemato alla meno peggio il problema senza riavviare la pellicola. Nelle scene più luminose si vedono chiaramente delle macchie sugli schermi e l'audio non è dei più limpidi o con la definizione degli effetti migliore. Considerando che la catena appartiene ad aziende del mondo del cinema che si vantano di fare le cose per gli amanti del cinema, direi che tra il dire e il fare c'è decisamente un abisso. Ma il peggio continua. Fuori dalla sala la cattiva pulizia prosegue, agevolata anche dalla presenza di moquette che non vede una lavata da quando è stata montata. L'apoteosi la si raggiunge nei bagni. Fatto salvo il principio che l'inciviltà delle persone è ormai senza controllo, la mancanza di cura, pulizia e manutenzione sono ad un livello imbarazzante (oltre al fatto che i bagni sono in un numero ridicolo per la quantità di gente che circola nelle sale). Nemmeno la presenza dei punti ristoro consola ; i prezzi assolutamente fuori da qualsiasi possibile giustificazione sconsigliano l'avvicinamento ai banchi. Visto che i prezzi dei biglietti non sono propio popolari, è lecito aspettarsi tutto un altro livello. Anche perché immagino che i 40 minuti medi di pubblicità che precedono i film vengano profumatamente pagati dalle aziende. Una famiglia che volesse portare due figli a vedere un film e prendesse dei popcorn e delle bibite si ritroverebbe in breve a spendere oltre 60/70 euro per un paio di ore di intrattenimento : assolutamente non...
