I went on the half day biking tour and enjoyed exploring the less touristy sides of Biei on an electric bike with Tomi-San! There were two Japanese participants in my tour and upon knowing that I could understand beginner Japanese, Tomi-San seemed to take care to speak a bit more slowly and simply so that I could understand (he has no problem with English too!) and was sure to keep looking at me to check if I have understood. I really appreciated this as many Japanese-speaking guides I’ve met in this trip tended to speak too fast and too much (using too difficult words). The electric bike was awesome and going up the slopes felt effortless. Would recommend this over using a car or navigating on your own, so that you can take in the sights and smells, hear Tomi’s commentary and save yourself the stress of navigating. I had the pleasure of being guided by Tomi on a recent tour and I must say, he was absolutely fantastic. Tomi took us to some amazing places and showed us the most beautiful and scenic sights. His knowledge of the local area was impressive and we learned so much from him.

It was our first time visit to Hokkaido and when I was planing the trip, I noticed such snow shoe activity around Funaro where I would stay. I thought it would be a special experience,different from the regular photo tour (many people), so i made a reservation with Tomi, the guide. and it turned out i made the right decision.
