Jōshō-ji was a former Buddhist monastery in northeastern Kyoto, Japan, endowed by Emperor Sutoku in fulfillment of a sacred vow. It is known as one of the "Six Victorious Temples", which encompass monastery complexes which enjoyed extravagant Imperial patronage from their inception.
