(This review is for shopping, not selling.)
I was in search of women’s clothes, and only looked at the lower-priced items, not high-end designer items. But they seem to have a lot of both.
The selection for inexpensive women’s clothes was the best of all the thrift stores I visited in Hiroshima, but not the best of all the BookOff Super Bazaar locations I’ve visited (the one in downtown Nagoya is larger, for example). But this was still very good!
I only interacted with staff briefly, once to ask the location of something and once at checkout, but they were both very kind and helpful.
I like BookOff especially for its “330 yen” racks, because you can find some great deals! Just be careful because a lot of these items are marked down because of some kind of defect. For example, I got a great linen jacket with the tags still on it for 330 yen, but there are some faded spots on one arm probably from improper storage. I don’t mind this, but just remember to check all items for things like stains, discoloration, holes, broken zippers, missing buttons, etc.
My one complaint about this location is the fitting rooms. They are directly next to the cashier, so people waiting in line to pay are standing in front of the curtains. Some of the curtains don’t have hooks to close, so I felt worried that someone might accidentally see inside. I hope they...
Read moreThis is the best Bookoff location if you're looking for unique items, clothing or souvenirs. This location has a lot of T-shirts that are mostly 500 yen, and dresses and other women's clothing for 300-500 yen. Obviously the designer section costs more, but if you're missing thrifting and good deals, this is the place to go. They have all kinds of sports equipment, household appliances, electronics like cell phones and laptops, as well as books, manga and anime. It's a bit farther than the more central location but it's well worth the additional walk. Items are cheaper and I think this store has overall...
Read more“But we can’t read Japanese” That was my silly thought when my son urged me to go to this place, which I thought was a book shop! I was clueless that this place is home of refurbished/pre-loved items at reasonable prices. The place is quite big with neatly organized items ranging from houseware, fashion accessories, coats, various clothing items for men and women, shoes and bags, etc. There are some luxury items in glass shelves that look brand new, complete with original packaging. A few moments later, I came out with a lovely knapsack-not branded but suitable for...
