The Japanese Evangelical Church in Meiji-Mura, also known as the Seattle Japanese Evangelical Church, was originally built in 1908 as a residential house in Seattle, Washington. In 1930, it was purchased by Japanese immigrants and transformed into a place of religious gatherings, becoming the first building owned by this community after years of hardship related to emigration. During World War II, the building was seized, but after the war it once again served as an evangelical church for the first generation of immigrants. Over time, as this community aged and its numbers dwindled, the building lost its importance.
