Hashidate Suspension Bridge (橋立吊橋) is a thrilling and scenic crossing that, along with Tajima Falls and Oyodo-Koyodo, forms a photogenic coastal trio worth your time. Slightly bouncy and not for the faint of heart, but a must for stunning ocean views and unforgettable photos. (4/5)

Full Review: Hashidate Suspension Bridge – Where Beauty and Bravery Meet Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

Strung delicately above a dramatic stretch of the Izu coastline, the Hashidate Suspension Bridge (橋立吊橋) isn’t just a means of getting from point A to point B—it’s an experience unto itself. Suspended high above the rocky shorelines that stitch together Tajima Falls (対島の滝) and Oyodo-Koyodo (大淀小淀), this slender, gently bouncing bridge is equal parts thrill and panorama.

If you’ve ever longed for that moment of suspended serenity, high above crashing waves and deep cerulean waters, this is your place. But let’s be clear—this bridge moves. With every step, there’s a subtle give, a light bounce that might unsettle the more acrophobic among us. However, if you’ve got a good sense of balance, steady nerves, and a secure grip on your camera or phone, you’re in for one of the most awe-inspiring vantage points on the Izu Peninsula.

The narrowness of the bridge only adds to the sense of drama—just wide enough for one direction of travel, meaning visitors must wait their turn for others to cross. But honestly, this bit of controlled pacing is a blessing in disguise. It encourages you to pause, soak in the scenery, and capture some truly stunning shots without being jostled by oncoming traffic.

From the center of the bridge, you’re treated to a sweeping view of Japan’s coastal magic. The waves thunder below, framed by jagged cliffs and verdant outcrops, while the expansive sea stretches into the horizon. On a clear day, the sun reflects like glass shards across the water, turning the view into a living, moving painting.

More than just a photo op, this bridge connects the trifecta of natural wonders in the area: the lush cascade of Tajima Falls, the otherworldly geological artistry of Oyodo-Koyodo, and the striking elevation of the suspension bridge itself. Together, they weave a full sensory experience—sound, sight, and the faint thrill of daring adventure.

Its limited accessibility may deter those with mobility issues or a strong fear of heights. Still, for those able and willing, the Hashidate Suspension Bridge is a gem, a reminder that the most memorable paths are often the ones you have to tread carefully.

Final Thought: Come for the nature, stay for the nerves, and leave with photos and memories that feel like they belong in a travel magazine. Hashidate isn’t just a bridge—it’s a brief, breathtaking flight...

It's at the end of the path marked to your right as you first reach the cliffs. The path isn't paved or marked but it's easy enough to follow.

The bridge is narrow and shaky, so be careful of your footing. May not be suitable for those with a fear of heights. There are also large gaps in the barriers on the sides, so be careful not to drop anything.

You can see the waves hit the shore. Highly...

Wonderful experience! Just that it's a little risky with mischievous kids because the gap on the rails on the sides is quite wide. Need to be careful about using your phone, if it...

周围的海很澄清透明,是蓝绿色的,非常漂亮。虽然这里不是热门景点门胁吊桥,但是依然是非常漂亮的自然景观,附近还有一处大淀小淀可以下到海洋附近,更是很漂亮。
