Ubara Beach — Local services in Katsuura

Very cute beach in the small gulf, the waves are small and good to learn surfing, you have to paddle yourself around and will not get smacked down by the waves. There are shattered shells on the beach so the sand is of brighter color. There is a small white Torii for your selfies and can hike around to caves and rock tunnels, some are forbidden entry and still beautiful. There is a food toilet on the top of the stairs to the beach. Not many eateries around, Ubara is a very small town with limited...

The beach is quiet and surprisingly you can see wave. This place is not for tourist area you will not find any shop or Cafe so bring your own food! Honestly people who visit this place mainly foreigner. I didn't see any local.. there is a small Tori gate which is nice to see. One more thing is parking area can be little bit tricky, there is no vending ticket for parking and so.. just watch where most of car...

2023.7末平日追記 鵜原理想郷のコース整備のため、工事をしていました。そのためかなりうるさく、生き物も減っていました。 さらに海に向かって左側の磯は、地元の方の出入りのため遊ぶな、と言われました。土日はありなのかもしれません。 大好きな海が良くなくなってしまい、残念です。

千葉-神奈川-茨城最高峰の透明度！ 波、磯遊び、シュノーケリングなんでもあり！

コロナお盆に行ってきました。 朝7時半には着きましたが、第1駐車場は7割埋まってました。今年は海水浴場開設されてないから枠が少ないみたいです。

海はかなりの人で、海水浴場開設されてないって割には監視も少しはあり、時々注意喚起の放送されてました。

波が少しありますので、浅瀬ではボディボード、沖ではsapやサーフィンの方もたくさん！ 私もボディボードを楽しめました。 海底はほぼ砂ですが、時々岩盤もあるので磯靴ははいたほうがいいですね。

海に向かって左の方にはちょっとした磯場があります。カニ取りとヤド拾いくらいなら十分楽しめます。ただ、沖ノ島や一色海岸と比べたら磯はイマイチなので、あくまで子供向けレベルですかね。

そのあたりから少し出れば、藻場がありなかなかに多様な生態系を観察できます！ 私も子供見ながらのシュノーケリングでひしたが、 ボラ、イサキの群れ？、ソラスズメダイ...
