Tried the chocolate Basque cheesecake and the maron pie from their offering of baked goods. The chocolate cheesecake was delicious, but perhaps because it was out for most of the day, it was a little dry, definitely needed to be enjoyed with coffee or tea. The maron pie chocolate coating was sweet and delicious (as expected being a chocolatier and all), and the filo dough was flaky and delicious, but suffering from perhaps the same phenomenon of being on the counter for a large part of the day, it the inside cake was a little dry rather than the sponginess I was expecting in the coating surrounding the candied chestnut. The general atmosphere is stark and not terribly welcoming, but the staff is generally cordial, but the wide variety of chocolates and baked goods is noteworthy. The price point is a little high, but it’s what you would expect for an independent chocolate producer.
