Our experience in Hareya ryokan was 100% positive: we spent there two days of relax. The ryokan is very close (20 meters) to a nice beach of clear water. The rooms are in traditional Japanese style, with futons beds and tatami floor. Our room was very big and included private toilet (although it was not specified in the reservation) and tap. The common bathrooms (divided for men and women) were very clean and well equipped and the warm water bath very nice and relaxing. We had lunch in the ryokan and the qulity was good. There is a Japanese restaurant neraby with nice food and staff that I would also recommend (the personal of Hareya suggested it). But the best part of our experience was definetly the staff: their English is rather poor but they try with all means to help you in any way (even with the translation help of their smart phones). This made our experience also funnier and more interesting. We finally felt at home....

Read moreWe loved our stay at this charming inn right on a stunning white sand beach that’s also dog-friendly! The inn itself is impeccably clean, and the atmosphere is just so relaxed—it’s the perfect place to unwind. The owners are a delightful couple who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They serve fantastic food that’s both fresh and flavorful. A 15-minute bicycle ride gets you to nearby Shimoda town, adding a lovely bit of exploration to the stay. I also enjoyed the easy access to paddleboarding and the serene nature walks. The onsen is an added bonus, offering a perfect end to a busy day. A top-notch choice for anyone looking for a pet-friendly beach retreat with excellent amenities and a warm,...
