Sotoura Beach — Local services in Shimoda

Scenic beaches. Absolutely this place is worth a visit! The ocean water is very clear and beautiful. We found crabs, hermit crabs, shrimp, and lots of little fish on the rocks on the beach! Restrooms and restaurants are also available on this beach. The waves on Shimoda's beaches tend to be high. However, the locals tell us that this beach is suitable for small children because the waves are weak. Shimoda Station provides information on some of the beaches to see if swimming is allowed that day. Other beaches were closed for swimming due to high waves, but this beach was still open for swimming that day! Perfect beach...

We went in early October and it was still warm. It was easy to park next to the beach.
