A welcoming, beautiful temple for people who want to practice sitting zazen (at least that was the case in 2009). The monk there, Hojo san, or Kuruma san, (forgive me if I don't have his proper title/name correct) is a true zen teacher and practitioner. Going to this temple and practicing zen when I lived in Japan changed my life. Is Hojosan still there? I'm not sure.... He had a son who may be the monk now. I don't know... Either way, deep bow and thank you...

Beautiful temple, but beware! Since there's a graveyard next to it, please don't disturb the peace as there might be a funeral procession on the way. If there's a white van in front of the gates and people in suits,...

■超駅前の寺院。武蔵境駅nonowa口改札を出て、左に進むと(右手に上島珈琲、左手に花屋)右前の角にあります。 ■向かえには「武蔵野プレイス(図書館)」があります。それほど駅が激近です。 ■四季折々の風景を見せてくれます。春は周辺の桜がとてもきれい。秋はお寺の紅葉と武蔵野プレイスの銀杏がとても良い風景を作ります。 ■年末年始には除夜の鐘がなり、駅から除夜の鐘が聞こえてきます。 ■駅前だからなのか、お墓があるのに幽霊がでる予感を感じない。明るい雰囲気のお寺です。
