The ONLY IMAX on island, you need to go see movies here, no other movie theater compares. Unlike Rycom, they use the air conditioning so its actually like a US theater. Not too cold though. The mall is fairly large but the theater isnt too hard to find. The mall in general is better than any other on island. The chicken is pretty good, hot dogs are maybe 5/10 but what do you expect from movie theater hot dog. $23 for IMAX, but literally the only one island, so if you want to go to another you could spend the $150 to fly to mainland. Seating is semicomfortable, not like most US IMAX, its Japanese size, cup holders cant go up or down so when your girlfriend/wife falls asleep during a movie she has to use the armrest. Altogether a good experience and the best theater on island, I will go nowhere else to see movies. Parking tip if coming from the bridge, drive past the mall to just before the outdoor packing, turn left, youll see the Kinser fenceline, theres outdoor parking right there, also, drive up the ramp to go straight to the parking garage 3rd floor so you dont have to spend hours looking for parking...
Read more2D screens are big and fine. 3D screens are awful!
3D screens: I watched Dr. Strange in 3D. Paid 2800¥ for it. Let me explain the experience in details: The 3D glass is cheap and bad in quality. Me and all my friends had severe headaches after watching the movie. I have watched 3D movies in other theatres in Okinawa/Japan, never had headaches before. The picture is not sharp and focused. There is an obvious blur(compared to 2D). There is jittering in the frame. I initially thought it’s from the movie itself. Then, I saw same jittery frames from Avatar 2 trailer also. It must be from project and the movie frame rate mismatch or something.
So, in summary 3D movie experience was awful, and won’t watch it ever again here.
2D: the screen is huge, however the pictures are not that sharp. But still, fine. I may come back.
Ambiance: stuffs food and all are...
Read moreIt’s my 2nd time at this cinema but the 1st time for IMAX. Sound and Picture are much better than normal theater. The theater is clean and smell nice as always. There is about 10mins advertisement after the show time. The ticket price is affordable (even a bit pricey but maybe it's normal japanese price) ~1,800¥ for normal theater and 2,300¥ for IMAX. Snacks are good especially Churo and fried chicken. I highly recommend you to try fried chicken here cause it's well seasoning and crunchy and juicy. BTW, you can purchase the ticket via the machine which only in Japanese or with the staff at counter which they can speak a...
