Book Off — Local services in Yokosuka

Very large, but somewhat difficult to get to, if you are driving from Yokosuka Navy Base. I had to double back on the opposite side of the building after my Google maps took me on a divided highway with no turn-in's, coming from highway 16. I will have to try to update it.

This building has two Wattman's and a Book Off. I visited for the first time and browsed their very large selection of used electronics, including audio equipment from the 80-90's, turntables, guitars, synthesizers, DJ equipment, and Japanese vinyls. Also went through 6 or so bins of Super Famicom and N64 games priced under 500¥. Altogether I spent 5 hours digging around and barely scratched the surface. Will...

Book Off (and all of its offshoots like Hard Off, Hobby Off, Mode Off, etc) is a huge chain in Japan with locations all over the place. Some are fantastic and some are junk shops with a few hidden gems.

This location is one of the those shops that you need to spend a lot of time to dig through to find those gems. If you have time for it, great. But it's generally one of the less interesting locations with a lot of expensive, high quality items and very few of the bargains found at several...

No English selection of books, but everything inside is priced nicely. It was nice to just roam around inside and look. Very few of the customer service staff speak English but what can you expect. The video game selection was no e and very cheaply priced. Wish they had more English manga though, I would have easily picked up a dozen books...
