Ave is a well-organized store divided into two main sections: grocery and non-grocery. Be sure to stop by an ATM beforehand, as they only accept yen. No credit or debit.
The grocery side offers an excellent selection of fresh produce, meats, and daily staples—all at fantastic prices. Everything looked fresh and well-stocked. Of course, as the day goes on, you may find more empty shelves than if you visit early on.
On the non-grocery side, you’ll find a wide range of items including toiletries, makeup, cookware, pet supplies, and more. Like the grocery section, the variety and pricing are impressive.
It can get a bit crowded, but the value and selection make it well worth a visit. A great one-stop shop for both everyday needs and...

Notable things: (1) there’s a huge section dedicated to pet stuff; (2) they take cash only; (3) the alcohol section is extensive and everything is extremely well-priced; (4) they sell whole fish. Towards the end of the day (4, 5 ish), they sell out of some things so you might wanna head...

Lots of local produce.... theres a whole section just for mushrooms! (Why are there no emojis for mushrooms?🤔) Great selection of meats, breads (found some butter rolls with legit butter in the middle! Lol--- see pics) hard liquor (as well as those chu-hais) and dairy products. Prices are reasonable and way better than the commissary when it comes to produce. I say it would be less than a 10 minute drive from Yokosuka base. I...
