Hotel Shikisai — Local services in Yugawara

Stayed there over the long weekend as not much else was available. Free bus available, which is good as it's a long way from the station. Room was a little bigger than I expected and the bath was long enough for two people, but not too deep so one stretched out is OK. Window was super small, only good for ventilation. There was a skylight which was annoying in the morning as the light makes it hard to sleep in. There was a decent size fridge but a little noisy. The hallways smelt like a dirty ashtray, but the room was smoke free. Buffet breakfast is free, but the western foods were pretty tasteless. Japanese foods were pretty good for the price. Get there early as there will be a long line and be prepared for some defensive food gathering as it's like feeding time at the zoo, and same deal for the dinner buffet, but there is all you can drink alcohol which was awesome! I have tattoos, so couldn't enjoy the onsen, but you can book a ping pong table or karaoke room for free, and also free bicycle rental. I bought some onsen powder from a souvenir shop and used it in the bath. Not a great deal to do in Yugawara, but there is a great bus trip through the mountains to Hakone from the bus stop which is about 3 minute walk from the hotel. If you get a Hakone free pass beforehand it's free, but we didn't have one yet so it cost over 1000 yen each. There are only two bus services in...

友人と1泊しました。 平日だったのもありますが、ご年配の宿泊客が多かったです。 まず客室について、部屋のカーペットの角が剥がれている、禁煙部屋の畳にタバコの灰で焼けた跡がある、寝る時に空調がうるさい、和室の椅子の背もたれが軋んでいる、壁や障子にシミがある等全体の老朽化は気になりましたが、1泊2食付き2名で約17000円の安いホテルなのでその辺は値段相応といった感じ。 タバコの臭いはさほど気にならず、隣の部屋の物音なども聞こえなかったので部屋の運はあるのかも。 ただ、前泊者のタオルが浴室に掛けっぱなしになっており、部屋の清掃に対する不信感はありました。 夜23時ごろ温泉から部屋に戻ったら巨大なゴキブリが出て、退治してもらおうとフロントに内線しても誰も出ず、フロントに直接出向いて呼び鈴を鳴らしても従業員が誰もいません。 5分程度フロントで待っていたら偶然どこかから従業員が帰ってきたので退治してもらいました。 深夜はワンオペになるのか、内線が繋がらずフロントに誰もいないのはさすがにどうかと... 従業員の方は手慣れたように退治してくれましたが、「ホテルには付き物ですからね〜」などと言って謝罪の言葉はなく、ゴキが大の苦手と伝えた私にタオルで包んだゴキの死体を見せつけてきて笑ってきたり、ゴキジェットを使ってサッと拭き取るだけで畳にゴキジェットが残ったままで自分達で拭きました。 いくら安いとはいえありえない対応でした。 ゴキの出現は不可抗力とはいえ不快な思いをさせたのに謝罪もなく、宿泊客の嫌がる事をして笑うホテルマンってどんな教育してるんだろう... チェックアウト時フロントは私達だけでしたが、特に気遣いの言葉はありませんでした。

食事は朝夕共に時間制限付きのバイキングで、品数も味も普通。コスパを考えたら十分。 ソフトドリンクとビールや日本酒などお酒が飲み放題で、おかずもつまみ系の料理があり、お酒好きにはかなり満足度高いと思います。 蟹の食べ放題がありましたが、時期のせいなのかわざと選んでるのか知りませんが痩せた細い蟹しかいなかったです。

温泉は熱すぎずぬるすぎず、私にはちょうど良い温度でした。男湯のアメニティはひと通り揃ってました。 シャワー掛けの位置が低く頭を洗いづらかったです。
