I recently had a deeply disappointing experience with Harvey Norman’s Elmina Lakeside service provider during the installation of my AC unit. While I was prepared for a waiting time of over two weeks (which was bearable), the behavior of the technicians was completely unacceptable.

Before even arriving at my unit, they mistakenly went to the wrong level and unit, displaying rudeness and poor communication regarding the error. When they finally reached the correct location, their attitude did not improve, and I was shocked by their lack of professionalism.

It is concerning that Harvey Norman assigns teams composed entirely of foreign workers who demonstrate inefficiency and unprofessional behavior. One technician made inappropriate and harsh remarks when I requested the installation to be done according to the required placement, implying that I was incapable of understanding the costs and processes involved. This attitude was both disrespectful and troubling.

Additionally, after this encounter, the boss of the service provider contacted me via WhatsApp, condemning me and questioning my understanding of the situation. Instead of addressing my concerns, his tone was condescending and dismissive, which reflects poorly on the management.

When I asked the team to show their working permits, they criticized me for not understanding the terms and conditions, further highlighting their lack of professionalism and customer care.

Having had several AC units installed in the past, I have never encountered such a negative experience. I am extremely disappointed that Harvey Norman would assign such an inefficient team that not only lacks professionalism but also exhibits rude behavior toward customers. I expected much better service, and this experience fell far below my expectations.

It’s a unique open concept. One of its standout features is the large lake outside the mall. The lake has a beautiful pavilion built on it, along with a bridge that’s perfect for taking pictures. It adds a scenic charm to the area, making the mall not just a place to shop but also a spot to enjoy nature. Next to the lake, there is a big football field. It seems like you would need to apply or reserve it for events, and near the field, there’s a children’s playground that looks really fun, though it’s only for kids to enjoy. Inside the mall, there is a charming street with shops on both sides and a small stream running through the middle. There’s even a restaurant that sits above this stream, and you can cross a small bridge to enter the restaurant. This detail adds a special touch to the dining experience. The open layout of the mall allows you to drive from one store to another, which is incredibly convenient, especially for those who don’t like walking a lot. You can park your car right in front of the stores, making shopping much easier. For people like me who prefer minimal walking, it’s a great new concept. However, the biggest downside is the toilets. Besides the inconvenience of having to grab tissue paper from a common area outside before entering the stalls, the cleanliness of the toilets is also lacking. Elmina Lakeside Mall truly stands out with its cozy atmosphere, wide variety of shops and restaurants, and a pleasant overall shopping experience. It’s definitely one of the better new malls I’ve visited, and the environment feels modern and welcoming.

However, I feel it’s important to give honest feedback, especially when it comes to toilet facilities, which play a big role in shaping a visitor’s impression.

Despite being a new mall, the toilets were surprisingly in poor condition: • Multiple areas had water leaking on the floor, creating a slip hazard • The inlet hooks were broken, making it inconvenient for users • Soap dispensers were missing, which is a major hygiene issue • The toilet bowls were stained or poorly maintained, which really should not be the case in a newly opened facility

To be honest, the toilet cleanliness and functionality need serious attention. It reflects the overall hygiene standard of the mall. Even if everything else is excellent, a bad toilet experience can leave a negative impression.

I believe this mall has great potential — the concept, layout, and tenant mix are impressive. With some proper maintenance and stronger focus on basic amenities like toilets, Elmina Lakeside Mall could easily become one of the top lifestyle destinations in the area.
