I had the pleasure of joining an incredible whale-watching tour, and it exceeded all my expectations! First, a big thank you to Roland, the owner, who was not only welcoming but also extremely helpful in making sure everyone felt comfortable and prepared for the day. His genuine passion for marine life set the tone for the adventure. Our marine biologist, Paola, was absolutely fantastic. Her knowledge and enthusiasm were contagious! She shared fascinating insights about the whales and the ecosystem, answering every question with patience and expertise. Her commentary made the experience so much more enriching, as we learned about the behaviors of these majestic creatures while watching them in their natural habitat. The captain was equally impressive, skillfully navigating through some rough seas to keep the boat steady and ensuring a comfortable ride for everyone. Despite the challenging conditions, they managed to get us close to the whales without disturbing them, showing a deep respect for the animals and their environment. As for the whales—what a show they put on! We were lucky to see several breaches, tail slaps, and even a mother with her calf. It was truly magical to witness these magnificent animals up close. My family had a great time on the custom sunrise tour with whale watching and some fishing. Roland is very thorough with providing different options to my initial inquiry as I have some concerns with young kids and seniors in the group. We came to Cabo at the beginning of humpback season, so I wasn’t expecting much for whale watching. Surprisingly, we spotted whale not too long after sailing out, and my in-laws were awed at the amazing sunrise view. The sail was so peaceful when there weren’t many boats out yet. Paola is very knowledgeable and very good with kids - my daughter is a curious one and asks a million questions- we all get to learn a lot about whales during the tour. Captain Chato is very experienced. We saw some active lobtailing, which Paolo explained to be potential primary escort fighting. None of us has any fishing experience, so it was also a very exciting moment when Captain caught the first fish, a green jack. Chato also helped to fillet the fish when we got back to the dock. I went on a whale watching trip with Salty Cabo and had the best experience thanks to their excellent oceanographer and seasoned captain. I live on the California coast and see whales fairly often, read about whales, and have been on several whale watching excursions (Maui, Alaska, California), but this one was the best. They found a mother and calf and we watched them respectfully for approximately an hour. Although humpbacks, they came very close to our boat several times (about 25' at closest). The oceanographer took plenty of photos so we didn't have to look at them through our cameras/phones, and could totally enjoy the experience. Despite knowing quite a bit about whales, I learned several new things. Other trips I have been on had a crew with 1 hour of whale education (and focused on serving drinks).

The other couple on board enhanced the experience as well. We also saw a sea turtle, ospreys, and rays. Our guide (Sonia?) answered many questions whether it was snorkeling and swimming recommendations, ecology, or restaurants.
