I had an excellent experience today. I was planning to arrive at INM by 8, but instead I arrived at 10 am. I waited in a short line outside for about 10 minutes. During that time a staff member approached and asked what I wanted done; I told her I wanted to update my residence address. I was given a number. Soon after, I was allowed inside and told to sit down. I was only sitting for 2 minutes and my number was called. An attractive and friendly woman attended to my tramite. She reviewed my documents, had me make a change on one document. It took her less than 5 minutes to attend to the task. Then she told me to wait. I didn't understand completely and just stood there. After a minute or so, she looked at me, smiled and said you can sit and wait if you like because it might take some time. I sat down, and watched her attend a few others while I waited. Then, after about 20 minutes, she called my name and told me it was all done and I will receive a confirming email. I arrived at 10 am to wait 10 minutes outside, and I left the building at exactly 11 am. I was very pleased, especially after reading all the negative posts. I had a pleasant and positive experience. Ok, hice una cita a las 8:40 de la mañana en la página oficial, se me hizo hacer el pago correspondiente de mi trámite. Llego el día de mi cita, hay una fila de más de 30 personas esperando a que den "turnos" ok no pienso nada de eso. Afuera de las oficinas hay un papel que dice que ese día ya no se darían turnos, pienso que mala onda. Escucho a los que están esperando, y mencionan que están esperando desde el día sábado a que les den turno porque han estado procesando a las personas de turnos atrasados (el día de mi cita era martes ello esperan desde el sábado turno), abren la oficina ( a las 9am), pero tienen una lista de personas del día de ayer que esperan su turno hoy. Les menciono que tengo cita, me dicen que tengo que hacer cola detrás de las personas que no tiene cita, si no que esperan turnos. Diciéndome que no existen citas a la hora que se me dio en la página oficial. Así que solo me hicieron perder mi tiempo intentando llegar a la hora de mi "cita" y si me hubiera esperado me la habrían dado para 3 días después de lo que había agendado. No soy de puebla asi aque tengo que viajar aproximadamente 2 horas para llegar a las oficinas. Para que me digan que no es válida el tiempo y hora que agende. Es una burla esa oficina. Y por si fuera poco con todas las personas que se acercaban a preguntar a todos les respondían de manera déspota. Si puedes ir a otra oficina del INM ve no pierdas tu tiempo aquí, aún no consigo...

We had to go there 4 times in the last year & we had a mostly pleasant experience every time. The service is especially smooth & efficient since they implemented the appointment system. The only point of friction are the security people at the entrance who make everything more complicated than necessary and slow down the process.
