Three of us were fortunate to spend our day in port at Cozumel on a private custom tour with VIP. I found this company by reading numerous reviews of guide services - like us, customers consistently rated them excellent for quality, flexibility, and friendliness. They were right. Communication by email prior to our trip was very good. It took about a day for response, and all of my questions and requests were clearly answered. We liked several of the tours they offer and had trouble deciding on one, so they were happy to leave it mostly open-ended once they knew whether we required boat or land. After we booked, we Paypaled a deposit. Follow-up email confirmation and instructions arrived the day before our experience, which provided peace of mind. Because independently contracted guides arenāt able to meet u inside the cruise port dog-and-pony area, we met the owner and our guide, Cristopher, just past the exit into the city. The small SUV was new and clean and comfortable and equipped with a cooler of drinks. Christopher was a wonderful guide and a really nice person to spend the day with. He drove safely, told us about the area and answered our questions, and helped us do the things we hoped to do. Our first activity was an ATV ride to visit the Jade Cenote and El Cedral. Christopher drove us to a very pretty rural property where we met an associated guide, Claudio with GO Tours, and boarded his very nice ATVs. Claudio was also professional and very friendly. Christopher and a mechanic- just in case- rode along with us while Claudio led us down hard-packed white sand roads- bumpy and around natural potholes, which we thought added to the fun. We went through the little town of El Cedral- interesting to see a quiet residential area- and through jungle foliaged trails to the cavern. Both guides explained the history and features and nature at the cavern and helped us jump into the water below and took pictures for us. We noticed other groups there didnāt have as much guidance or fun as we were having nor ATVs or jeeps that were as nice as the ones we had. When we rode back to our starting point, we were encouraged to take a swim in a beautiful small pool at the property where we started. Next we decided to go to Punta Sur Eco Park (reviewed separately- loved it!) and Christopher showed us small Mayan ruins there, the lagoon, the lighthouse, and we shared a good Mexican lunch at the rustic beach club there. At our request, he hung out with us and let us enjoy the beautiful spot at our pace. Because it was an unusually windy day, the waves were rolling in at Punta Sur, so we didnāt think snorkeling would be ideal. Christopher offered to take us to a different area to ensure we got the chance to do that. He took us to Sky Reef and got our equipment, and we enjoyed a great snorkel experience and a nice beach there. Finally, we got to see some of downtown Cozumel as he dodged the worst traffic to deliver us to a quiet back entrance to the port to be on time for boarding. VIP provided us exactly the experience we had hoped for- private, custom, safe, informative, fun, and authentic- and for a better value than any other tour we considered. We had a great time and can recommend this company without reservation! Look no further if youāre trying to find the right...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChap tourists experience VIP tours only takes the money then they leave u with another random company for the boat tour. We asked on the phone for a specific tour on a not crowded boat (not the catamaran), the guy told us it was fine and proposed a tour with max 14 ppl on board. After that we payed at the harbor and we were given bracelets and told to go to the boat, that was the last time I saw any one from VIP tours. We lined up with many more other people to get on the boat but here we were randomized between the catamaran (with 40 ppl tying to get in) and another smaller boat with Lobo marin tours We were in a first time sent in the catamaran but we protested so we were sent on the other boat. We started in 13 and we made 4 stops on the way to collect more ppl for a total of 21. The tour thus started 1h late on a boat with 21 ppl on board (not so comfortable) while blasting cheap ass commercial music on the speakers. The captain was driving like he was the only one on the boat, we had the idea of being just merchandise. Letās donāt speak about the snorkeling part bc yes we saw turtles and shit but we were so many ppl that we were taking punches and kicks all over We were all wrapped in inflatable protection and we were not allowed to dive The equipment was cheap af and no fins were given Moreover, in the 3 spots we visited there were hundreds of boats doing the same tour (i guess itās the standard offer for every company) so we were all the time surrounded by inflatables and pplās hand and feet Every time the guide was calling for turtle every one was moving like in a messy inflatable horde. Horrible The last part was a cold drink and food at the cielito where u are supposed to chill in shallow water. Here, the situation was the same as before: hundreds of boats, loud cheap ass music and 20 ppl crowded on a single bowl of food floating in the sea. The experience was horrible in general, the food was not qualified since it was impossible to eat and disgusting since everyone was touching everything, the snorkeling was enormously disappointing If the snorkeling is what you want to do Donāt do this with any of the local company proposing on Cozumel you have better chance by Renting a boat and going there alone or maybe ask for the much mire expensive...

We booked a private boat for 3 families with 5 children all under the age of 6 with Rogelio and he did not disappoint! Rogelio was quick to respond to all of my questions from the time of booking all the way up to the day before the tour (all message were responded within 2 minutes). Here is a summary of our day with VIP tours: We got picked up in front of our resort at the EXACT scheduled time by our transportation provided by VIP tours and headed to Playa Del Carmen. Rogelio offered to meet us in playa to guide us from our arrival to Playa, onto the Ferry to Cozumel, he stayed with us during the tour, and brought us back to Playa at the end of the day which was a big relief as it was our first time taking the Ferry to Cozumel. He bought all of our ferry tickets and added it to the final bill to make it easier for us to watch the kids and not have to wait in the ticket line. He also pulled our kids wagon the entire tour, and it was packed full of stuff and kids!! THANK YOU! Our private boat had plenty of room for everyone and the crew was amazing. We had a young girl on board who was there to entertain the kids, swim with them, and watch them if the kids wanted to stay on the boat while the adults snorkel. She was the sweetest! Our boat lunch was delicious, with some of the freshest ceviche iāve ever had, also an abundance of fruits, quesadillas, salsa and guac, juice boxes for kids, alcohol for adults. Snorkeling was great, the kids loved seeing the big sting rays swim around the boat at cielo beach. I would say that the kids might have been too young to fully enjoy the snorkelling but it was still a great first snorkelling experience for them. I would definitely recommend gravol before the boat ride, especially for the kidsā¦. 3/5 got sick on the boat. The weather was a bit rainy with some wind but nonetheless we had a fantastic time with VIP tours! HIGHLY recommend booking with Rogelio and bringing your kids to experience the beautiful waters of Cozumel. We...
