Caveat emptor
Cab driver was taking us from the north (Carnival) port to downtown. He started asking if we wanted to take out ATVs or Scooters (it was pouring down rain) and we asked him again to take us downtown. Asked if we wanted to sample tequila and that he’d take us and wait (as long as we tipped him) — very “convenient” that he could also suggest the “best Mexican restaurant on the island” (which just happens to own the tequila “factory”) — Didn’t take much to figure out that he’s also compensated to bring them customers, etc …
Did the tour/presentation/tasting and got to sample tequila from Los Tres Toños — which was very good 👍🏻 My only problem is that the guide said the price was fixed and exclusive to the island, etc —- but the prices were fixed THERE …. extremely HIGH
Found “their” same tequila brand online at a fraction of the cost … and glad I didn’t allow my family to be hustled into their restaurant on property.
Seriously … what kind of Mexican store doesn’t bargain on prices (especially when looking at multi bottles) ?
Only giving this a 2* because the info and history of the process was worth a trip off the beaten path —- just realize the info/stories they will tell you...

It is obvious that this is more of a tasting / informative / & they hope you purchase location.

I can attest that she is doing more than a fine job representing the family and this brand of tequila.
I will return to this location to pick up the family reserve and the Anejo ( burgundy looking bottle) the next time, it has such a beautiful flavor.
That extra was TOO SMOOTH to...

They have agava plants and a stone wheel here and they explain how tequila is made and aged. After you make your way into the tequila shop, you get the sample six of their tequila's for free, AND THEY ARE GOOD!! My favorite was one that's infused with cherry and almond. Their tequilas are a little pricey, but they are of the highest quality I've tasted. if my suitcase wasn't jam-packed arriving in Cozumel I would have absolutely bought a bottle. Fortunately, my mom is heading to the island next month and I asked her to pick me up one.
Miguel was our guide. He spoke fluent English and was incredibly friendly. He made us laugh a few...
