El Pezcozon — Restaurant in San Miguel de Cozumel

Went here for my post Ironman 70.3 race meal and left with full, happy bellies! We tried the "minerva" ceviche which was bomb, fried octopus and raw shrimp in a spicy sauce. I ordered the pezcazon filet, which was served on top of some pan fried veggies and mango, alongside rice and corn. My partner ordered fajitas, which was a mix of shrimp and fish with bell peppers and onions. We ended up getting so full from the chips, salsas, and ceviche we took the leftovers of fajitas and fish home. Bought some local, handmade tortillas and made a second meal the next evening. Gave the service a 4 only because it took quite a while for us to get our food, might be because they were busy with some post race groups, but out...

Horrible experiencia. Gente sin criterio, ni educación No sabíamos que no tenían pago con tarjeta, pero me dijeron que hiciera una transferencia a STP, de inmediato la realicé, les enseñé el comprobante que arroja al realizar la transferencia, más el correo electrónico y el comprobante de pago CEP. Eran 3 comprobantes que me amparaban Pero insistía la cajera de forma grosera que no le reflejaba a ella en su celular, y que así no nos podíamos retirar, nos exigían ella y un señor de mal aspecto y mas grosero y déspota, que teníamos que pagarlo en efectivo, argumentando ellos que por eso no aceptaban el pago con tarjeta o transferencia y que no nos pidiamos ir…Cuando ellos mismos me dieron un número para transferirles. Lo peor fue cuando nos volvieron a decir que no podíamos salir del restaurante, ellos estaban cerrando ya. Y yo les dije que ya les había enseñado los tres comprobantes del banco Empezaba a oscurecer, mi nietecito bebé de año medio, mi nieta de 8 años, iban con nosotros, ya estaban muy inquietos y angustiados llorando, y el señor insistió en que no podíamos abandonar el lugar. Que teníamos que pagarle en efectivo o no nos dejaría salir. Nos estaban reteniendo!!!! Decidí llamar al 911, ya que me sentía amenazada, de inmediato me dieron la atención en el 911 y me dijeron que una patrulla iría al lugar, en lo que estaba dando mis datos, un mesero me dice que la transferencia, ya había pasado. Que ya nos podíamos ir (nos habían liberado) Agracedí al 911 la atención que nos estaba brindando, diciéndoles que ya se había resuelto. Nos dijeron que si era necesario enviarían el apoyo, cosa que ya no requerimos, porque nos habían dejado ir. La peor experiencia de mi vida. Horrible horrible!!!!! Creo que un poco de empatía a sus comensales y clientes podría...

Excellent go to place for Seafood of the touristy path. Spanish would be better suited fir ordering as mostly locals from the island and beyond will visit frequently. A typical carribean restaurant with a Palapa style roof overhead.

Food here is delicious, along with beer and mixed drinks I do believe. Service is rather hit or miss at times, as you might wait some time for your food to get to your table. Therefore, the rating. If the wait for food could be served at a more consistant basis, this place would be a 5 star...
