Wrote this review 5 months ago!; but wanted to update today! Came back again today, and it was EVEN BETTER than the first time. We wanted fried whole fish again and our server, Victor recommended a very good looking, large fish they had. We took his advice and got it. It was fried and ready at our table in 20 minutes. It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. I swear, best meal I’ve had in Cozumel. So so much fish & cooked to absolute perfection. His service was also so excellent!! Very attentive, friendly and just enough conversation! We had the giant fish with sides as well as a small ceviche & it was only $40! Unreal. When we were there the fisherman came back with their catch of the day and sold to the restaurant! They bought the fish they had. Honestly, it doesn’t get much fresher than that!! This is the place for seafood! Come here if you’re any great seafood! Came here on a food tour. I do not like fish but this place was EXCELLENT and this fish was my favorite dish I had in all of Cozumel ! 10/10 come here!!

Please excuse the late submission. My wife and I both had dinner at La Perlita a couple weeks ago. This was our second time dining at this restaurant previously. We had been there 10 years ago while vacationing in Cozumel. This is a local restaurant. Certainly off the beaten path from most tourist traffic to the island. It is an open air restaurant. We were quickly seated at our table. Our waiter was fluent in English as we spoke no Spanish. The restaurant is able to get lionfish on occasion and it was my desire to try this fish. I chose to have my lionfish fried with a light unsweetened coconut breading. The shrimp were very well cooked with a large serving of garlic. We both enjoyed our meals very much and highly they recommend the restaurant. The restaurant is easily accessible by taxi or colectivo.

Let me start off by saying they let us come in before they officially opened and happily sat us down. We ordered a large shrimp ceviche to share and an order of rice, just to try it out. Glad we did. It was all delicious. The rice was really good. I am glad we decided to try it. The ceviche was a decent size to share for lunch. They bring out chips, limes, and picante with it. We tried to order lemonade, but they offered us a fresh cold coconut juice so we changed our minds on the lemonade. It was a solid choice. So cold and fresh with no pulp or any weird stuff. The staff here are very welcoming and speak good English. The restaurant appears to also be the home of some of the workers. I really liked the atmosphere of the place. It felt like a quiet place the locals enjoy.

I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant. It is a Must try for anyone that doesnt like touristy restaurants and wants local delights. First, the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The staff are so polite and professional, they even called a taxi for us towards the end of our meal. For the food, I can tell you it is literally the best seafood I've ever eaten. Ever. I've been to pricey all inclusives, expensive restaurants, and this place was still the best. Based on our orders I am sure it is impossible to pick a bad item on that menu. There is real skill in the chef, and you can taste how fresh everything is. We ordered the lion fish ceviche for a starter and it was, hands down, the best fish ceviche I've ever had. Bright, full of flavor, perfect tender meat, and simple. But the star of the show was my partner's dish which was red snapper. I tend to put lime and/or sauce on Everything I eat. Him as well. But this dish was so perfectly cooked and seasoned we didn't add a thing. I wish I could express enough how great it was but I can simply say it's the best cooked meat I've ever eaten, and I ordered the (also perfectly cooked) lobster.

No frills, no non sense, just real fresh food and amazing cooking skill. The best seafood you could have in Cozumel, and I'd venture to say, in the...

My dad and I scuba dive every year in Cozumel. We were brought here 6 years ago by a taxi driver because the seafood restaurant we were trying to go to was closed for the evening. Thank the lord he brought us here. This is now a main stop we come to every year. The fresh seafood is spectacular. We usually order the ceviche (heads up the smaller option is plenty enough for two) . The fresh fish which they bring to you in a cooler caught that morning that you can choose from. Whichever way you want it prepared is fantastic( we have had it every way) . Between the drinks/service/ and food this place is a 10/10. Have tried most items on menu and have never gone wrong. My dad and I usually eat here once or twice during the week and always have our last meal in Cozumel before we fly out. Without a doubt one of the best places to eat...
