Hergo — Local services in Amsterdam

I just moved to this area and get my meat from the butcheries. 1. hergo is extremely expensive compared to many butcheries around. For example: in this picture the chicken breast is €24,3/kg while another butchery close by is €17,5/kg, also organic chicken. 2. Always check the receipt! Today they charged me extra 3 times expensive for another meat I got, when I called them out, they didn’t seem to be surprised and didn’t apologize sincerely. It could be they charge customers ‘mistakenly’ on purpose, especially for foreigners don’t understand the Dutch on receipt. I personally don’t think I will ever go...

Unlike most Hergo shops, this one in Beethovenstraat offers a vast assortement of tasty sandwiches. My personal favourite is Milano with Parma ham, pesto, pine nuts, tomatoes and grated Parmisan cheese. The service is quite fast and on sunny days you can enjoy your quick lunch outside on a stool as the world goes by on this busy and chic street. This is the place to go if you want to wait for the slowest service on earth, and then be treated poorly by the counter woman for not being proficient in Dutch. Finally, you'll get to overpay for a (fine) sandwich....
