To the management team @Renzos. I tried emailing your address on website but since I did not receive a response then I must post my review here. I also tried Facebook messenger and my message was read and ignored.
I moved to the NL in January and since I got here I have always noticed the restaurant but never actually went until today. I wanted to share my unfortunate experience at the restaurant.
My husband entered the store and went to the pasta bar to order what we saw displayed. We were asked at the pasta bar by the employee if we were eating the food there or If we were taking it to go. We responded we would like to eat there and to that he responds “if you eat here the price is 3.xx (I forgot exact amount) € per 100 grams”. To that we responded “Ok” and went ahead and told him what we wanted and paid accordingly (I was surprised by price). We then were instructed to wait in any table we liked so we went up to the little mezzanine to sit by the wall on the long benches. We happened to be sitting in the opposite direction of the pasta bar which we could see from up there and I happened to see a big board with pricing and notice there were different prices for all the different kinds of pasta. My husband and I were trying to figure out why he said it was a same amount around 3-4€ for any 100 grams.
I then go downstairs and asked to speak to the same employee and asked him what it meant and he told me “those are the prices for take away food”. To that I told him that he never explained and gave me the information necessary for me to make a choice. I told him he can never assume I know the information and it’s the establishment’s responsibility to inform the customer. He showed me a small board with small text that said the information (in dutch I believe) and to that I responded that he cannot assume people come into the store reading everything around them. I told him if I had been instructed on my options, I would have decided for take away because he can never assume my situation. While we enjoyed eating there, we believe we were not informed correctly. I told the employee I knew he didn’t mean any harm or for me to intentionally spend more money, but that came to the cost of me spending more money just cause I was unaware on information on a completely new place.
Coming from a customer service position, I know that mistakes happen and that we are all people. But it is exactly why the employee or someone in charge could have resolved my complain and situation based on the circumstances. Great food but not really happy about this. Don't play with people's money and assume responsibility accordingly.
A simple adjusted refund would've solved the deal and would've guaranteed me coming back. Not the...
Read moreFrom an Italian opinion I should say that I am really disappointed! Because, first, you CAN'T sell a bottle of water from the brand "Acqua Panna" and two small bags of cookies from 350g from the brand Mulino bianco "Pan di Stelle" and "Abbracci" for the price of 16,40 €! I do believe that every branch of hospitality has their own plan of marketing, but from an Italian to Italian this is just a joke and not funny at all! Mostly when the cashier is calculating the price on a calculator. I'm sorry to did not realize it at the moment of the payment, there were other people waiting behind me and I just went away, but then I start to think about it, and I kept repeating to myself " I know this is Amsterdam and every retailer is deciding their own prices , but this is unbelievable, two packages of cookies and a bottle of water for almost 17€!!!" I understand that we are not in Italy and prices maybe higher, but normally I find this cookies around Amsterdam for maximum of 5€ euro per package, which is still high price. In addition I want to say that I wasn't even offered a receipt. This is not just another opinion of a frustrated Italian, complaining about prices, this is an exclamation from an...
Read moreHonestly overrated. The flavors are good but the sandwiches are so barely filled it’s like they think we’re still in the hongerwinter. I tried twice and both times the sandwiches were badly filled (except with greens like rucola).
The buns themselves have good flavor, but later in the day they’re stale. To me it tastes like they don’t make a fresh batch halfway through the day.
They could make the buns a little less stale by reheating them in the oven with some steam, to crisp them up and make them fluffy again, but they don’t.
This all wouldn’t be so bad if the prices weren’t sky high.
This place would be good if they filled their sandwiches more royally and if they made sure their buns are fresh (or refreshed in the oven).
2 stars for good flavor, but everything else is just not good enough...
