The Wax Bar — Local services in Amsterdam

I am utterly disgusted and appalled by the treatment I received at the wax bar, Van Barlestraat on the (9/11). I have been a loyal customer for nearly five years, recommending your services to numerous friends, but after the horrendous encounter I had with your wax lady/receptionist, I am seriously reconsidering my loyalty.

I arrived at the salon just 5 minutes late for my appointment which I had called before to let them know that I would be late, only to be greeted by a full of attitude/rude wax lady/receptionist who clearly had no regard for customer service. Her rudeness was beyond belief, making me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable from the moment I walked in. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, she immediately gave me an ultimatum, offering me only the option of a bikini wax rather than the Brazilian wax I had scheduled because her next client was in "5 minutes" which was shocking to me because how can you schedule an appointment 5 min after the next?

Her lack of empathy and unwillingness to accommodate a minor delay was shocking. As someone who has trusted your establishment for years, I expected a more understanding and respectful approach. This experience has left me deeply disappointed and questioning the standards of your business.

Not only after this incident I sent an email to the business and STILL NO RESPONSE!...

The client service is so awful, racist and discriminating. I was a frequent client since I arrived to the Netherlands, and they always kept me waiting for my appointments because I was always on time or even earlier. This time I had an appointment at 10am when they open and I arrived at 10h06 am and they told me because I am late they could not do the whole treatment and they waxed at the half. I found this unacceptable and I asked to speak to the manager and the receptionist said the manager was not there. This is simply a racist and discrimination act because I am not dutch.I have seen plenty of dutch girls arriving late and they still get they treatment completely. I advise all the expat women using their services to stop doing it as clearly they will only treat you well and make exceptions if you are Dutch blonde. The Wax bar sucks, never in my life I have seen such an respectfulness behavior...

I am sad to write this review because until yesterday I was pretty happy with the wax services at this salon. However yesterday I didn't have a nice experience while having my Brazilian wax done, throughout my 12 years of brazilian waxing I've been treated way way better than yesterday. Also please note that the price is higher when compared to the market (44 EUR), so you should expect also a very high quality service. On the hygiene level, a very clean salon, nothing to say. All in all, I think I might be open to try other salons as well because the ration between quality service and price...
