Thuishaven Festivalterrein — Local services in Amsterdam

The rusty industrial look and the 'made out of trash' look combined with the nice outdoor area & the good soundsystem actually lead me to the wrong expectation of being able to have a nice Berlin-like rave here. But would I experienced couldn't be more far away from a rave. We went to the summer opening party, only to the night part. At the end we paid for entry and 4 drinks 80€, they even have their own 'currency' which of course helps confuse people on how much they spent. I highly doubt that they check IDs, they didn't check ours and judging from the people there that were spending daddies money, they haven't been checked either. Everybody was doing selfies, videos or tiktoks & rarely anyone was happily dancing... which is not a nice vibe and definitely no rave feeling...music was too loud as well, staff quite unfriendly, not a nice experience after all. The location itself is awesome, but the parties just seem to be...

The security guards are extremely rude. I bought a bottle of water and I wanted to leave the party and he almost screamed at me saying that I should leave the bottle there as if I haven't paid for it and it is not mine. This is unacceptable just because he has an authority there doesn't mean that he can rude and disrespectful towards people for whatever reason. We were very open to listen if he was willing to tell us why plus I don't know how it makes sense that I cant take something I BOUGHT myself with MY MONEY, it is my commodity by law. If they are expecting me to give up on my bottle (to specify I am not talking about the cap) they should give me the deposit of the bottle, I can as well want to keep it as a souvenir or use it for whatever reason I want. If they claim any rights on it they should have made us sign papers for it which they didnt that is...

Great location, nice sound and light…but prices are pretty high and the token system is kinda weird cause you loose the overview of how much money you spend for each drink…no freshly made “cocktails” out of a 0,33 can for 9€ is heavy…a locker for the day is between 7,50-10€ each and the guy who is supposed to help is only pissed by you and watching instagramreels while insulting you bar stuff was nie….I know that this is only my opinion but topless guys should tape their nipples cause it could trigger people and make them feel uncomfortable sadly there are a lot of them…on the dance floor no problem but no shirt no service could be a way to give everybody the place they need…and last but not least….the sanitary facility’s I don’t know how you could expect that during a 10h openair some DIXI toilets would be a blast and may a third sink could...
