Giethoorn known as Venice of Netherlands, is one of the most amazing place to visit in the country. There a pretty good connecting trains and buses and even the NS bikes(bicycle) from the nearest station Steenwijk. A bike ride from station to Giethoorn is fun, my personal experience. The best way to visit this place is to book a boat for yourself prior your visit via Internet so you don't waste your time in search of it which ultimately results in not getting a boat to hang out. Great museum about Giethoorn, a must visit while in Giethoorn! We got lucky; once a year there is a good tasting where you can try dishes with Dutch recipes over 100 years old. This happened to be last weekend when we visited the Venice of The Netherlands! The very friendly volunteers will answer all your questions. 😊
