If you’ve ever watched Chef’s Table (season 4), this might sound familiar to your ears: “When ever you see gelato displayed using maybe 20 different flavors and it is in mountains with a piece of fruit or chocolate or something on top so you know what it is, just turn around and leave. That is not real gelato.” This cozy little family-run spot on Piet Hein straat? It gets it. No gimmicks, just the good stuff. Think creamy pistachio, deep chocolate (vegan too!), and refreshing surprises like Kulfi — an Indian-inspired flavor that’s like a mini holiday for your taste buds. The flavors are clean, natural, and never too sweet — just the way real gelato should be. What’s even cooler? They care about the planet. Bring your own cup, reuse your spoon, and enjoy guilt-free indulgence with a side of sustainability. ♻️🍦 Whether it’s sunny, stormy, or somewhere in between (because, hey, it’s the Netherlands), this is the kind of treat that makes your day better. One scoop is never enough — and that’s okay.

Handsdown the best ice-cream I had in my life! No sugar based thirst or long flavour aftertaste after trying these delightful ice-cream flavours! Yes, you do pay for the premium experience but it is totally worth it. Most of the selection of ice-cream is vegan friendly so those who are conscious eaters should be here buying their ice-cream. The flavours aren't the bog standard ice-cream you can get anywhere. There is a selection of foreign fruits like 'Alfajores' from Latin America or 'Calomansi' from the Philippines that gives you some hidden tastebud gems. If you are adventurous, you can even try the pinecone flavour. The staff are helpful and always willing to give you a taste, just to make you sure you have the right scoop of ice-cream selected for your enjoyment. I would highly recommend going here and I would definitely go back! The ice-cream doesn't make me feel like I gained 20 kilo's or regret.

Here comes a review from a certified ice cream addict. This is, by far, the best ice cream place in The Hague. (Ok, The Hague doesn't have that many great ice cream makers, but Piet lifts the standard.) In terms of creativity, I haven't seen anything more awesome than Piet in any of the Netherlands' main cities. Kulfi, sticky rice, tahin, Armagnac chocolate... Wow. Piet takes you on a trip. In terms of flavour, the 'main' ones (pistachio, vanilla, strawberry) are a level up from Ijskabinet, lucianos and other competitors. It outshines in the alternative flavours though. Easily worth the additional <€1 over the mediocre other places. The only thing I'd like them see improve is straling Massimo's pistachio recipe (Amsterdam). But hey, try something else than pistachio!

PEOPLE OF THE NETHERLANDS! Please, I beg you, go and try for yourself. Simply put, it's better than the best!

I'm a very picky person and I was unwilling to each Pistacho ice cream anywhere due to the extreme sugar usually used at other parlors but at Piet, I noticed from the color that it was artisan pistacho indeed and it tasted like Italy itself! Perfect amount of sugar, pistacho and the level of creaminess was impeccable.

They are extremely creative with the flavors. Either be brought back to Italy, Thailand (mango and sticky rice!!) or India. It's refreshing to see something innovative in the ice cream industry.

The girl that helped us was extremely kind, excited to serve and offered one of the best services i've experiences at an ice cream shop.

10 out of 10!

I'm lucky I live...
