Edgware Takeaways, take aways my heart more like it! I've lived all over the country and sampled some of the most reputable f n cs, the ones that people say are the best in the country, Auckland, Ham, Wellington... but those all lack the quality and selection that Edgware serves up. You've got the classic fried menu, classic, but the portions are about twice as big! I'm not kidding aye, get the fish, they're monsters! They do a mean curry spring roll fyi. The burgers are massive too, awesome selection, the fella in there will custom it out too if you ask. But the crowning jewel of this place are the souvlakis. They're so good aye, should be serving them in a full on Greek restaurant... I sometimes wake up at night in a cold sweat and shaking if I haven't had a large, with extra lamb in a few days. Went there a while ago for a souvlaki. It was soooo yummy! I had the chicken one and it exceeded my expectations!

The guy working there was on his own yet the food came out quicker than I expected. I only paid like $13 (I can’t really remember) for the extra large option and it was a full meal in itself! It was packed with heaps of yum stuff in a thick pita bread it was GREAT for the price paid.

The shop looked like your average kiwi F&C shop. Kind of small but it’s you never expect to eat at a F&C shop when ordering F&C.

Highly recommend for a cheap fast filling meal. I’ve had the souvlaki for lunch and a chicken meal for dinner. Don’t let the small size of the place fool you - this place is good, fast, reasonably priced and VERY POPULAR, especially on Friday evenings. Note that if you’re getting anything other than fish and chips on a Friday evening during the rush hours of between 5 and 8, you can expect a small wait as they work through getting the fish and chips cooked in batches to get people out the door with their food.
