My favourite Indian restaurant in Christchurch by far!!! This place is incredible - the service impeccable yet friendly, the food is so delicious and of very high quality. We usually eat in but it was my birthday and due to numbers and my brother's family joining with their children plus some other friends stopping by later on we got takeaway despite usually preferring to dine in as it is a charming little neighborhood restaurant. The manager was so lovely and very helpful. He gave me the takeaway menus and told me to ring and order when I was ready the next day. He helped me select the right amount of dishes and they even threw in a few extras when we picked up the order (we had ordered quite some dishes and they looked after us very well). The takeaway menu has a discount of 10% and the portions are a good size, plus the food being so tasty and combined with the team being so hospitable - it was a worthy birthday feast and everyone loved it. They are fast and reliable and I recommend these guys to everyone! Enjoy it the next time you want Indian takeaway for watching a movie or having special guests over for the evening - it suits...
Read moreGorgeous wee restaurant that I’ve been to a few times. Amazing service on the day my friend and I went. I had won a voucher from a Christmas promo so thought we would go and use it. We both had butter chicken - mine medium and my friend had blasting hot! Haha. The meals came out with rice and naan bread and we just had iced water. My medium was actually quite hot - nearly too hot for me but it was delicious! My friend had the blast in hot spice level and loved it! Didn’t bat an eyelid - though she is half Hispanic! The aloo paratha was amazing! Tasted spot on. The service was amazing too - the gentleman took our photos and was extremely attentive! Good experience, delicious food. We will be back or at least I will as my best friend came from Texas for a holiday! Thanks...
Read moreOrdered a lamb biryani. Didn't taste like biryani at all - no taste of spices in the rice, no flavour at all. Imagine I had to eat the raw chopped onions with the biryani so that I can finish the rice as I hate wastage (even though I hate onions, especially raw ones). It seemed like the chef just randomly stirred in the raw onions at the end before packing it in the box. That's how bad it is. It's just edible coloured plain rice with a few pieces of lamb - just don't call it biryani. Perhaps it's time for the chef to try the biryani from other restaurants, which actually contain spices such as, cardamom, cloves, coriander and nuts. Very disappointed since Google reviews showed a high rating. It didn't live up to its high...
