Stayed here a few weeks in a tent. For what it is, it's a great place. Toilets and kitchens cleaned daily, by accommodating and friendly staff. I cannot emphasize enough how lovely the people who work there are! The bathroom has a heater, bright lights and nice mirrors with music playing. Very modern. There's a very clean/sparse pool with great safety fencing and lounge chairs, a playground for younger children with a tunnel and slide, 3 swings for young to old, a bouncy inflatable tramp, two regular netted trampolines and a ping pong table. Sand surrounds the inflatable bouncy tramp. Often you'll hear bouncing and laughter ring out across the park from gaggles of children which is really lovely. The longer term residents have fostered a good sense of community around the place & are friendly. Were very amused to see a resident cat on a leash near the pool come out to say hi. Cute!! As it's next to the Airport there's planes flying overhead all day which is pretty cool to see, but obviously loud. Not the place for quiet seekers at ALL. Me and my baby enjoyed the planes though and it was a great distraction & learning experience for him! Left off one star for minor issues. One was the bathrooms inconsistency in the music volume. Multiple people must play around with the volume. It plays all night and sometimes it was so loud I couldn't sleep as my brain was trying to sing along to all the music! Other nights ur was completely off. Another issue is that the BBQs are grimy as, they're used often and cleaned irregularly. There were ciggy butts allover the ground outside the BBQ area too. As a vegetarian I'd just use the cleaner kitchen. Nothing supplied to cook with and rarely clean sponges to wash with. You'll need to bring all your own cookware, crockery, cups. Also only found out before leaving there's a cupboard with oil and salt free for the people to use. Why no signage lol? No lid on ladies bathroom rubbish bin and no disposal for pads/tampons until a week or two after I was there, so had to stare at used period products in that open bin, and throw babies used nappies in there, which made me feel self conscious about the smell. Last annoying issue is the tent site itself is small, centre of the cabins, (no trees or shade in most of it and alllll the other guests can see you), and the ground is hard and gravelly. Pegs are impossible to insert without hurting yourself or using a mallet. It's also right next to the sewage dump so on windier days that shit reeks. This is clearly a place designed for RV/Caravan or cabin camping only. For what it is, it's a great place though and I'd highly recommend to others who want to stay handy to the airport or the west...
Read moreTried booking today. Website claims unlimited free wifi. Booking page comes up with a charge of $5.00. Very confusing. Asked the question to Newbie - who could not respond as no humans were about. Email sent. Therefore booking not made. Will update when email has been responded to. Response to email:Yes, we do have Free Wi-Fi and off our $5.00 Wi-Fi. Paid version offers faster speeds in comparison to the Free Wi-Fi.. Again need some clarity on the website as this is very confusing. No mention of faster speeds if you pay 5$ extra. 12/2/19 Owners have responded to my confusion and amended the website which is a great response. It is much clearer. Advantage of their particular website is you can actually see and book your site. I have upped my original rating based on the response as the information is now much clearer. In response to unchecking the $5 option, to me this indicated that wifi was indeed paid and therefore unchecking meant no wifi despite the free wifi on the home page so I would still have been confused. As an online service I have no inclination to chase up for relevant information via phone calls or waiting for email responses especially as this site looks heavily booked. I again reiterate I have not been to this camp site. This review is based on the information provided available at the time to make an informed decision about a booking which did not eventuate due to the confusion on the website. Google map reviews are based on experiences associated with the particular company and comply with their policies in regards to reviews. Free unlimited wifi is a great offer from...
Read moreTake your money elsewhere. At check out, the manager refused to refund my $20 bond because of pet hair in the bed. No damage to the room, just hair.
I rented a deluxe cabin which came with a queen bed, dishes, a fridge, towels, and a heater. I paid $98, including a $20 potentially refundable pet bond. No sink or cooking apparatus. I used the shared kitchen and bathroom.
Upon checking in the room, I regretted not paying extra for a hotel/motel/Airbnb. The heater in the room was an electric, stand-alone space heater. You can’t leave the heater on all night for risk of fire, so the room was uncomfortable as the temperature dropped last night.
The manager told me pets weren’t allowed in the bed, and I should have read the terms and conditions. If I had known, I would’ve taken an extra minute to shake the hair off the sheets before leaving.
Disappointing as the grounds were in good condition. There’s a playground, pool, clean bathrooms, and showers, and the kitchen was tidy.
Not returning a $20 pet bond due to pet hair seems a suspicious excuse not to wash sheets between guests. There are plenty of other more reasonable pet-friendly campgrounds and motels. I will take my business elsewhere, and I encourage others to...
